Town Hall
From The Mayor’s Desk
Hi everyone!

Can you believe we are getting ready to welcome the arrival of the holiday season once again. My goodness time is certainly moving along. This is always a very exciting time here in the Town of Bay Roberts as preparations are well underway to celebrate our 27th Festival of Lights. As we approach the end of 2024, it’s nice to reflect on the wonderful and busy year it has been. I’ve been told by residents and visitors that Bay Roberts is a very busy community, and we are that for sure. Our numerous events such as the Songs, Stages and Seafood Festival, the Tulip Festival, Light the Lamp, and Klondyke Days bring thousands of people to our Town each year. These events give visitors and our residents lots of reasons to get out and celebrate everything our Town has to offer!

This year was very special as we hosted the Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games in August. It was a huge success and an amazing team effort by everyone involved. I offer gratitude to anyone who contributed in any way. It was a great opportunity to showcase our Town and our region, and we did just that.
We are also pleased to see so much development happening throughout the Town. We have numerous projects currently underway and more in the planning stages. Housing starts are up, and a lot of new housing development is in the works. With these projects come disruptions to our daily routine. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience. However, the result will be well worth it as we strive to improve services for everyone.
As a growing, changing community, I am also pleased to say that we are becoming increasingly more diverse. We are lucky to welcome new people to our community every day from across the province, the country and the world. Please do your part to show all new residents that Bay Roberts is their home.
I want to extend appreciation to everyone who contributes to making our community the wonderful place we call home. I wish you all a wonderful holiday season and hope that you have time to enjoy the company of your friends and family.
