Canadians of all faiths were horrified by the shootings in Quebec City Jan. 29 that killed six people while they worshipped at a mosque. North Battleford Islamic Centre hosted a gathering in memory of those victims Friday. About 100 people representing the local Islamic community and the community as a whole gathered for prayers and to express their grief and support. Battlefords RCMP Insp. John Sutherland told the gathering the local detachment and the force across Canada is dedicated to protecting people of all faiths from violence. Imam Ilyas Sidyot from Saskatoon said there has been an outpouring of support. For more turn to Page 3.
