Bogus charity collectors target Bath households Bogus collectors attempted to get unwanted clothes from Bath residents in the name of a cancer charity. That’s the suggestion of Breast Cancer Research Aid, whose “legitimate” collectors will be posting collection bags through letterboxes in mid-November. But in a social media post shared 4,200 times, a mum from Bloomfield in Bear Flat urged people to resist filling the bags and leaving them on their doorsteps. A 15-year-old Beechen Cliff pupil and rising rugby star tragically died on a school trip in Spain. Max McMullen fell from a seventh floor window during an exchange trip to Cordoba on Saturday, October 19. His school in Bear Flat wrote to parents pledging counselling and support sessions for any students and staff affected in the weeks and months ahead. Max played for Bath Rugby’s academy, who said he “will always be a part of our club”. A minute’s applause was held when the senior side took on Exeter Chiefs on Friday, October 19 at the Rec. In a statement, the club said: “Max McMullen, a young man who truly loved our game and who we are lucky to have coached and see develop as a Bath Rugby Academy player in recent seasons, tragically died in an accident last weekend whilst away on a foreign exchange with his school. “Max was a popular and hugely promising member of our U16 squad and the news of his death has left all of us with a
