By Harry Mottram. A resident of Bear Flat in Bath has become the newly elected Avon and Somerset’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC). Conservative candidate Mark Shelford has been elected with 34.4% of first preference votes and was elected after second preference votes were counted, beating Labour’s Kerry Barker in the vote last month. Mark Shelford is no stranger to the city having served as deputy leader of Bath and North East Somerset Council in the past and as the councillor for Widcombe and Lyncombe. He’s an ex-solider and replaces Sue Mountstevens, who served as PCC from 2012 before standing
