PAPER TO PAGES - MAKE YOUR OWN ARTISTS' BOOK
Join us for a hands-on exploration of making as you craft your very own concertina-style artist’s book - perfect for filling with ideas and inspiration. Experiment with a range of techniques to personalise your creation and make it truly unique. Throughout the day, you’ll have the chance to connect with Creative Arts Practice tutors and student ambassadors, explore our incredible building, and get an insider’s view of what makes our programme so special. Come ready to create, customise, and be inspired!
MAKING
This taster session shares approaches from our studio led Fine Art course with ‘learning through making’ as a core principle. Working alongside our technicians, tutors and students, you will collectively make a provisional set of objects and paintings using materials from our paint methods room, sculpture workshop and fabrication yard.
Working in our technical workshops under the guidance of a tutor exploring either printmaking or dark room photography.
FOUNDATIONAL FOUNDATION
This welcoming session will introduce you to the studio-centered ethos of the Foundation programme and its transformative approaches to art and design practice. Across this informal workshop you will collaborate via a ‘thinking through making’ approach, in the Foundation Studios which are located in the centre of the fantastic Locksbrook Campus. This session will also provide you with the opportunity to working alongside staff and Foundation student ambassadors, to ask questions and learn more about maximising your potential with the BSU BA with Integrated Foundation Programme.

Using the objects and paintings made in the previous workshop, we will bring these objects together for a series of installations to the camera. This informal workshop will provide an environment in which your questions about the course can be answered through making alongside tutors and current students.
