Fellow Chamber Members,
It is hard to put into words how proud I am to be part of this progressive Chamber of Commerce. Always striving to improve, expand knowledge, and create opportunity for our business community, the achievement of 5-Star Accreditation is a well-earned recognition of an organization that consistently puts its members first.
I have been involved with the Bastrop Chamber for more than six years—first as an ambassador, then as a board member serving on the executive committee, and now as Chairman of the Board. Through each of these roles, one thing has remained clear: everything your Chamber does is for you, the members. Every decision we make is guided by our mission to improve business prosperity and quality of life.
Your Chamber is here to open doors, advocate on your behalf, provide education, and offer meaningful support. We don’t just want you to succeed—we want you to thrive.
While the Chamber has reached several significant milestones in 2025, it is important to pause and celebrate those accomplishments. At the same time, we know the work is not finished. As our business community continues to grow, your Chamber must stay one step ahead so we can continue to lead with purpose and effectiveness.
Thank you for your continued membership, your trust, and the opportunity to serve you. Together, we are building a stronger business community and keeping Bastrop a beautiful place to live and work.
God Bless,
Sara Rutherford, 2026 Chairman of the Board Good Bull Golf Carts

Dear Bastrop Chamber Members,
As I reflect on 2025, one word rises to the top: Credibility. This year marked a defining milestone for your Bastrop Regional Chamber of Commerce as we achieved 5-Star Accreditation, the highest designation awarded by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. This recognition affirms what many of you already know, that your Chamber is strong, relevant, and operating at the highest level of excellence in governance, advocacy, programs, and service. It is a distinction earned through discipline, intentional leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
While 2025 brought progress and momentum, it did not arrive without effort. Businesses across Bastrop County continued to navigate economic uncertainty, workforce challenges, and shifting market conditions. Yet time and again, I watched our business community show resilience, adaptability, and resolve. Growth does not always come loudly; sometimes it comes quietly, through perseverance, recalibration, and bold decisions made behind the scenes.
Your Chamber leaned into that same mindset this year. We strengthened our financial stewardship, invested in leadership development, expanded advocacy efforts, and deepened partnerships across the region. Programs like our hallmark initiative B.E.S.T. Leadership Program, regional summits like the Governor’s Small Business Summit, and collaborative events with the Austin Chamber of Commerce reinforced our role as a convener, connector, and champion for business in the region. The trust placed in us, by members, partners, and stakeholders, continues to be our greatest responsibility and back our credibility.
Our Board of Directors, under the strong and thoughtful leadership of Meagan Webb in 2025, remained focused on strategic governance and long-term sustainability. The Strategic Plan guiding our work ensures that decisions are made with intention and with your interests at the center. I am deeply grateful to board members who lead with courage, accountability, and vision.
Our Chamber staff, with more than 70 years of chamber experience, continues to be the best in the state. Their professionalism, creativity, and commitment not only serve our local business community but are often recognized well beyond Bastrop County, both state and nationwide. Their work reflects a Chamber that is respected, engaged, and forward-looking.
As we look ahead to 2026, our theme: Pistols & Pearls “Bold Leadership | Timeless Style” captures the spirit of who we have been for more than a century and where we are going. We will lead boldly when advocacy is required, when innovation is needed, and when the voice of business must be heard. At the same time, we will remain grounded in the timeless values that define this Chamber: integrity, relationships, service, and community.
As I continue on my journey in the Chamber industry, I remain profoundly honored to serve as President and CEO of the Bastrop Regional Chamber of Commerce. This work is not easy, but it is always meaningful and greatly impactful. Thank you for believing in your Chamber, investing in its mission, and standing alongside us as we shape the future of Bastrop County and beyond, TOGETHER!
With gratitude and optimism, Becki Womble, CCE, IOM
