Basic Spirit Our Story

We’re inspired by the rhythm of the changing tides by our seaside studio in Nova Scotia. As a homegrown company, we love creating and challenging ourselves to stay true to our roots.

Our Products

We design and create gifts that touch the heart and delight the spirit. Our handcrafted products are made from the finest pewter alloys available. If you need custom designs or have special requirements, we have the flexibility to work with you.

Our Community

Pugwash is a small village on the Northumberland Strait of Nova Scotia. We fish for lobster, mine salt, make pewter and enjoy the best nature has to offer. Known for peace, Pugwash, is the birthplace of the Pugwash Conferences on Science & World Affairs, recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1957. thinkerslodge.org

We are dedicated to helping foster a healthy & peaceful world by contributing 10% of profits to charitable causes at home & around the globe. In partnership with the Nature Conservancy of Canada we have helped to preserve over 1,200 acres of wild shoreline & estuary lands. We thank them for their vision & support.
