The Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission was established in 1977 to foster cultural activities in Woodbridge Township. The Commission supports a varied program, from concerts to art exhibits to poetry readings to lectures. Arts classes for children and adults are also offered. The Center has been fortunate to receive grant monies from a variety of sources—the County, the State, the Freeholders and business supporters. The additional funding has allowed for continued programming as well as maintenance and restoration of the Barron building. Along with the staff and the Commission, the Friends of the Arts, a volunteer group, assists in many ways. In addition to acting as hosts and hostesses for regular programs and receptions, the Friends help with mailings, fund raising and other areas where their help is needed. With the help of the Friends, the Barron Arts Center will continue to provide excellent cultural programs for the Woodbridge township community as well as for people from around the County and the State.

KELLY BEYER APPEARING AT BARRONFEST 2026

“. . .preserving its essence—the feeling of a place.” Kelly Beyer is an oil painter whose work explores the relationship between nature, architecture, and the restorative power of color. Inspired by her travels throughout New England, Scotland, Portugal, the Caribbean, and beyond, she creates paintings that blend realism with a touch of impressionism, capturing places that evoke a sense of wonder, nostalgia, and connection. Through layered color, expressive brushwork, and a love of storytelling, Kelly transforms cottages, gardens, coastlines, and landscapes into scenes that feel both familiar and dreamlike. Her paintings are less about documenting a location and more about preserving its essence—the feeling of a place. After a successful career in healthcare and patient engagement, Kelly now paints full-time from her studio in Morristown, New Jersey. Her work has been exhibited in regional galleries and juried shows in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Frank Bird has always been a builder. After serving four years in the Air Force, he returned home to raise a family and build a career — running his own crating business for 33 years and working as a longshoreman. Retirement didn’t slow him down. Instead, he found new joy in his workshop, affectionately nicknamed “Frank’s Bird House”, where he creates handcrafted birdhouses, toys, and cutting boards. Known locally as “The Birdman of Carteret,” Frank has turned his lifelong work ethic and craftsmanship toward pieces that combine function, charm, and a touch of humor. His birdhouses are a particular favorite — a natural extension of his name and his creative spirit. What he values most, though, is the connection his work brings: staying active, meeting people, and making things that brighten lives and homes.

“a sense of calm and peace.”

I'm a fine artist specializing in painting and tactile art. I’ve been deafblind since I was born. Making art gives me a sense of calm and peace. I hope people find a lot of details to look at and to touch in my work; and that they appreciate the feelings and emotions in all my art. My art has been “Alone Tree” exhibited at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, and galleries/shows throughout New Jersey. Five of my tactile arts are on display at the Helen Keller National Center Technology Center. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Art degree (2019) and my master’s in studio art from NJCU (2022).

“. . .inspired by the famous Russian jeweler, Carl Faberge.” At Eggceptional Creations, ordinary eggshells, small and large, are turned into beautiful keepsakes to commemorate a special occasion or to decorate your home. Eggceptional Creations was founded in 1990 by Jean Leonard of South River, NJ. All gift and decorative items are made entirely from hollowed eggshells, inspired by the famous Russian jeweler, Carl Faberge. My interest in decorating eggs began when my husband's mother, Clara Leonard gave us a set of decorated eggs for our Christmas tree each year. I have been fascinated with them ever since. Decorated eggs are a wonderful gift idea. Eggs symbolize life and are perfect for special occasions such as births, anniversaries, weddings, Christmas ornaments, and birthdays. How are the eggs decorated? I begin by using first-quality infertile eggs. The eggs are cleaned, cut open, and then reinforced with water putty (similar to plaster of Paris) which increases the thickness of the shells. Several coats of paint and/or epoxy follow. This gives the eggshell increased durability. They are then decorated with genuine crystal rhinestones, glitter, and jewelry findings. Some even have music boxes, and others are lighted.

JOEY MATESIC APPEARING AT BARRONFEST 2026

“How it Ends” (Framed) - $1,200

“. . .allowing. . .rhythm, mood, and imagery to flow directly into my artwork.”

As a child, my favorite subjects in school were art and music. Without realizing it at the time, I began blending the two, spending hours at home painting my favorite musicians and bands while listening to their songs. Now, more than 30 years later, I’ve returned to those early inspirations through my series Music Through the Ages, where collectors are embracing my work and displaying it in their homes. Music fuels and shapes my creative process. I fully immerse myself in the song behind each piece, playing it on repeat and absorbing its visuals, allowing its rhythm, mood, and imagery to flow directly into my artwork. In 2025, I developed a distinct technique by blending elements from artists who have deeply influenced me; abstraction from Pablo Picasso, the textured precision of pointillism inspired by Vincent van Gogh, and the raw energy of neo-expressionism seen in Jean-Michel Basquiat. Through this evolving style, my work remains closely tied to music. Each piece incorporates literary elements that either interpret and break down a song or have the musicians’ songs on the artwork itself, an approach reminiscent of Basquiat’s use of text within visual art. I developed an interest in photography in April 2025, inspired by the stunning view of New York City from my office. Since then, I've captured a collection of striking images featuring the Empire State Building and the city's iconic skyline, highlighting the beauty and energy of the urban landscape. I also create close-up photographs to reveal the contrast and quiet beauty in the world, details that often go unnoticed in the rhythm of everyday life.

MAYA MAU & CAROLINE JUNG VIRTUAL CATALOGUE EXCLUSIVE ARTIST

“. . .the beauty of ordinary objects. . .” My name is Maya and I create wire jewelry inspired by ordinary objects I see around me. Sometimes I’m inspired by the organic shapes and logarithmic spirals of nature, other times by historical artwork from my culture, and more often than not by fashion trends and motifs. When worn, my pieces are meant to capture the beauty of ordinary objects seen every day. I work primarily with hammered aluminum and stainless steel wire because durability and affordability are equally important to me. Aluminum wire is lightweight and bright silver, and I use hammering techniques to create textures and movement throughout each piece. DOTTIE MCKENNA VIRTUAL CATALOGUE EXCLUSIVE ARTIST

“I really enjoy the days I spend at the fair teaching and constructing.” I have been doing stained glass projects for well over 30-years after being introduced to the craft by a church friend. Early on I took a number of elementary and intermediate classes in the craft from the East Brunswick Rec. Department. I started in the beginning with little suncatchers and have now worked up through large stained glass panels, lamps and hangings we’ve used in church at Christmastime. I have been an exhibitor and demonstrator at the Middlesex County Fair for many years. As a demonstrator my 4 role was to show the fairgoers the process of creating stained glass projects from cutting the individual pieces to soldering the whole offering together. I really enjoy the days I spend at the fair teaching and constructing. I have worked, for a brief time, in a studio helping to repair a damaged church window but my preference is panels and hangings of varying sizes. As future projects I would like to make some panels for the narrow windows next to my front door and stained glass windows for architectural use in residences. I am working on a project to construct a large “Martin Luther’s Seal” to be hung in a Lutheran Church in East Brunswick and I just finished an owl window piece for my brother’s home. By training I am a Registered Certified Critical Care Nurse with a Bachelor of Nursing Science degree from the University of Wisconsin. I also studied at Indiana University/Purdue University – Indianapolis. My specialty is Intensive Care and IV Therapy Nursing and I’ve worked in hospitals in Madison & La Crosse, WI, Indianapolis and New Brunswick.

TRUPTI MEHTA APPEARING AT BARRONFEST 2026

“. . .complex, mesmerizing. . . ”

I’m a dot mandala artist obsessed with color, symmetry, and precision. My work reimagines the meditative art form using monochromatic palettes, bold color choices, and tiny mirror accents. Every piece is built dot by dot on canvas, wood, and clay plates using dotting tools and acrylic paint — no stencils, no shortcuts. I’m fascinated by how a single repeated gesture can create something complex, mesmerizing, and oddly satisfying to look at. For me, it’s where meditative tradition meets modern pop-art energy.

BOB NOVAK APPEARING AT BARRONFEST 2026

“. . .uniqueness, individuality, and history. . .” I am a freelance nature and landscape artist photographer, who has called Central New Jersey home for over 45 years. Being a photo enthusiast, it was a long road from a 1960’s Kodak Brownie camera, through SLR film cameras, to now modern-day digital imaging with a mirror-less camera, and post-processing, while going on brief getaways to grab interesting scenes. After retiring from a career in manufacturing quality control, I have focused more intently on capturing images of landscapes, wildlife, and historical architecture, throughout New Jersey, and beyond. My location has permitted many forays over the years, to different areas of the state, in an attempt to portray the uniqueness, individuality, and history, found within this often urban state. I enjoy taking photographs to creatively reveal some of my vision in the image, to bring the viewer closer to the beauty, often unnoticed, or hidden, in the world around us. In being my own fine art print maker, it is the nature of modern digital technology that all photos receive a degree of processing before they are printed. Some images are only slightly adjusted, while others have additional enhancements, using various techniques to create unique prints. Many of these prints have been available at various art/craft shows throughout the state, and through: BobNovakPhotography.com

“. . .enjoy the uniqueness that each moment presents.” My name is Gina Petrecca. I loved photography when I was growing up. I became fascinated with preserving memories. I have tons of photo albums of my family, friends, and pets. I always make sure I take photos at certain events and especially parties. There are other moments I just love when they are not at special events and it’s a normal day. As I grew up, I knew I wanted to do it for a living. I love taking pictures of still life, architecture, landscapes, nature, and animals. Anything in those categories I just love. I pretty much get inspired by colors, shapes, or anything different. My inspiration changes depending on the situations I find myself in. Sometimes an idea just pops in my head and I just do it. I feel every artist is unique and their tastes are different. I can’t fit myself in a category. I just do what I want and enjoy the uniqueness that each moment presents. I like doing art exhibits with other artists so I can meet new people. If the opportunity came along where I could do a solo show then I would. I like nightlife scenes so I can be where people are. I want everyone to see what I can do and for my photography to be part of the environment, on the walls and enjoyed by people. One goal of mine is to have my own photography shop and sell my prints. JAN TEN BROEKE ARTWORK APPEARING AT BARRONFEST 2026

“. . .biomorphic shapes and evolutionary forces. . .” Jan ten Broeke was born in Over Ijssel, Netherlands, and painted and studied art since childhood. Ten's exhibitions New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, the British West Indies, Germany, and Canada. Aside from art and art history, Ten also gained inspiration from the origin of life, prehistory, anthropology, geology, and astrology. Ten's work is titled with his name and date of execution instead of titling them. This is because he believed it confused the audiences’ perception of his paintings rather than clarifying it. Drawing inspiration from nature, biology, and history, these elements are reflected in the abstract forms of Ten’s work. His work is characterized by biomorphic shapes and evolutionary forces, combining structures with forms typically found in nature. The fluidity of the shapes as they push and pull against each other gives it a lifelike appearance of organisms from a prehistoric time. The colors that are utilized also indicate the tension between construction and biology. The smoky, hazy darkness in conjunction with the undulating forms gives Ten’s work a bleak atmosphere. However, within this smoky hue, this natural color of blues and greens illustrates organic forces.

GATTEM VENKATESH APPEARING AT BARRONFEST 2026

“. . .art has the power to connect people. . .” I am Dr.Gattem Venkatesh, a pioneering world micro-artist and architect recognized for my extraordinary ability to merge art, design, and cultural storytelling on the smallest of canvases. I am a New Jersey Artist Certification Member and my works— ranging from intricate sculptures carved onto pencils and seeds to detailed miniatures of architectural landmarks—embody both technical mastery and deep cultural meaning. I gained international recognition in 2017 after earning a Guinness World Record for sculpting a replica of the Empire State Building on a single toothpick, measuring just 18 mm in height and completed in 21 minutes. This achievement established me as a global pioneer in micro-art innovation. On the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, I created a unique artwork that celebrates the nation's history, values, and cultural heritage. This work honors the spirit of freedom, democracy, innovation, and unity that has shaped America over the past two and a half centuries. Through my artistic vision, I sought to capture the journey of the American people —their resilience, achievements, and contributions to the world. The artwork serves as both a tribute to the nation's founding ideals and an inspiration for future generations to continue building a society founded on liberty, opportunity, and mutual respect. As an artist, I believe that art has the power to connect people across cultures and generations. This commemorative creation reflects my

PHYLLIS WILKINSON APPEARING AT BARRONFEST 2026

“. . .glass is exciting and challenging.” I’Kiln-formed glass is the process of heating glass in a kiln to the point where two pieces of glass are fused as one without losing their individual color. Taking that basic process, I like to explore and create pieces that force one to look deeper into the colors and textures of glass. My ideas are influenced by everything I see. And transforming the idea into glass is exciting and challenging. The glass pieces are created using a myriad of intensely colored glass. Some designs are enhanced with copper, various metals, glass inks, gold or silver leaf. Using this process I have created framed pictures, suncatchers, pendants, seasonal decorations. Each piece is a unique, one of a kind design.

KEN WITKOWSKI APPEARING AT BARRONFEST 2026

“I’ve been painting ever since. . .” I am a lifelong resident of Woodbridge Township, New Jersey. I was born in 1957 and attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York as an illustration major. Deciding I liked the fine art aspect more, I settled on pastels as a medium because I was tired of carrying wet canvases across campus. Sewaren is the subject of some of my paintings. I like to call them industrial landscapes. Realizing it was unlikely that I could sustain a living as a painter, I left Pratt to work at a retail frame shop and gallery, just to be around art. I painted recreationally and was occasionally commissioned. I always liked the challenges that pastels presented and enjoyed the ability to leave a painting for extended periods. I painted for a few years until family and work took control of my life, so I put away the pastels for about 28 years. About 2013, I made friend with an individual who I later learned attended Pratt about the same time. We were talking and I revealed that I also attended Pratt. I said to him “Yeah, I used to paint!” to which he replied, “Used to?”; “you either paint or you don’t, there’s no “used to!””. The following week, he gifted me a brush and three 2” x 2” canvases and said; “Here you go, start small!” I’ve been painting ever since, when time allows.
