Outdoor Family Fun! Safety precautions will be in place for outdoor programs including adjusted capacity and physical distancing. Masks are recommended for unvaccinated customers over the age of 2, when physical distancing cannot be maintained.

Story Time in the Sun

All ages w/caregiver Tuesdays at 9:45 and 10:30 AM Meet us for stories, songs, and rhymes in nature! Families are asked to sit together on provided blankets, set apart for social distancing. BALibrary Lawn, east of the upper parking lot. Weather permitting. Please register one name per family.

Meditation Story Time

Ages 2 – 5 w/caregiver Wednesday, August 11, 10 AM Saturday, August 14, 10 AM Take a few mindful moments— feel the breeze on your face and the grass on your toes as we read stories and join in activities that introduce basic mindfulness skills. BALibrary Lawn, east of the upper parking lot. Weather permitting. Please register one name per family.

Tie-Dye in the Sun

Grades 3 – 8 Thursday, August 12 3:30 PM OR 4:15 PM Try out tie-dye techniques on the Library plaza. We will provide 1 white T-shirt and 1 white bandana; please feel free to bring other items from home to tie-dye. Dress for a mess. Weather permitting.

Outdoor Family Concert: Wendy & DB

All ages w/caregiver Friday, August 13, 10 AM OR 11 AM Wendy & DB will get everyone moving, singing, and dancing to songs that feature inclusion, diversity, love, kindness, and family values. Please bring your own blanket. BALibrary lawn, east of the upper parking lot. Weather permitting. Register.

Painting in the Sun

Friday, August 13 Grades PreK – 2 w/caregiver: 3:15 PM Grades 3 – 6: 4:15 PM Dress for a mess as we do outdoor art activities such as pour painting, squirt gun painting, and splatter painting. Weather permitting. Register. BALibrary Plaza, east of the Meeting Room.

Story Time Dance Party in the Sun

All ages w/caregiver Wednesday, August 18, 10 AM Bop to the beat and share some stories! Families are asked to move and groove in their own dance areas, set apart for social distancing. BALibrary lawn, east of the upper parking lot. Weather permitting. Please register one name per family.

BOARD NEWS New Library Trustees Anne Ordway and Jennifer Lucas were sworn in at the Board’s regular meeting on June 9, 2021. Lucas had previously served as a temporary appointed Board member, in order to fill a Board seat left vacant due to a trustee resignation. In addition, returning Trustee Denise Tenyer was sworn in at the Board’s regular meeting on July 12, 2021. Tenyer was appointed to fill the fouryear seat left vacant when elected candidate Mark Stenberg moved out of the Library district. At the July meeting, the Board of Trustees voted to move forward with reconstruction of the Library’s service

driveway. The ramp is almost 30 years old and in need of replacement. Construction will take place in either fall 2021 or spring 2022, and will have no impact on service to customers. New officers were selected at the June meeting: Carrie Carr: President Don Minner: Vice President Jennifer Lucas: Treasurer Jan Miller: Secretary The Library Board meets on the second Monday of each month and the public is invited to attend.
