School History Barbara B. Rose Elementary is one of eight elementary schools in the Barrington 220 School District, serving grades K-5. The school opened in 1999 in South Barrington. It is named after Barbara Blanchard Rose, who served on the Board of Education from 1977-1981 and as a volunteer for Barrington Youth Services. In 2019 Rose celebrates 20 years of excellence in education.
