We Build The Carolinas WE DON’T JUST BUILD BUILDINGS.

We build lasting relationships.
Meet Chris, Chris, & Tim – The Founders of the Barringer Family

We are a Carolinas-based general contractor committed to delivering an exceptional experience for our customers
We take a client-centered approach that allows us to build lasting relationships grounded in trust, honesty and shared goals. Titled ‘The Barringer Way’, we pride ourselves on going above and beyond to provide value every step of the way. Equally important, we have fun doing it.
The experience we provide and the quality of our team is what sets us apart. Our goal is to build far more than just a high quality space; we are dedicated to providing an experience rooted in excellence, professionalism and doing what is best for our clients and their projects.

Our Values

We are generous with our time and contributions to our community, charities and to each other.
Authenticity
We are real and genuine in our dealings between each other and our customers.
Honesty
We are good stewards of company and customer resources. We tell the truth even when it’s hard.
Passion
We are passionate about our work and finding solutions for our customers.
AND
We build

We’re a fun-loving group of relationship enthusiasts who genuinely love what we do.
Barringer was founded on a shared desire to revive a diminishing approach to construction services – one where handshakes still hold great value, people are put first, and the act of building something is revered as a craft, not a commodity.

We build our communities in more ways than one.
We have deep roots in the communities in which we live and work, and actively advocate for their long-term success by donating our time and providing financial support. This is evidenced in many ways, including the boards on which we serve and the support of charities, churches, and other organizations that enrich the places we call home. This approach creates a ripple effect of engagement and promotes an environment in which our customers and employees thrive.

Multi-tenant Campus Lobby High-end
a 25-year-old
Located in the heart of Charlotte’s SouthPark neighborhood, the Towers at SouthPark are two of the largest and tallest Class-A office spaces outside of Uptown. The 25-year-old office development underwent a significant re-branding and renovation to connect the buildings, upgrade its amenities, and create a modern, cohesive campus that would attract new tenants.
Work started in the lobbies of both buildings, which needed a unified look and feel to further the client’s goal of creating a cohesive campus while modernizing the space. Both areas were completely gutted, expanded, and retrofitted with larger windows, soft wood tones, neutral colors, and upgraded finishes to create open and welcoming spaces that would set the tone for the rest of the campus. Restrooms and common corridor spaces were also updated to match the modern aesthetic. Extensive exterior renovations also helped bring the campus into the now with the addition of a Dekton-clad entry portal, new hardscape and landscape, and robust site lighting.

More than just a climbing gym – it’s a one-of-akind climbers’ wonderland
Barringer provided full preconstruction and construction management services for this award-winning out-of-the-ground, three-story, steelstructured indoor rock climbing facility. The 20,000 square foot mountain-inspired structure was created using insulated metal panels, curtain wall and engineered stone facade, while the interior includes a bar area, retail merchandise store full of climbing gear, fitness center, yoga rooms, locker rooms, and multiple climbing walls. The bright colors and unique amenities welcome customers of all ages for both entertainment and relaxation.
Cliff Hangers contains North Carolina’s only indoor 15-meter competition speed wall. The construction required excavation and building below grade to accommodate the 50-foot wall while staying within zoning height limitations.

The
evolution of a legacy for one of the most renowned private clubs in the Carolinas
Myers Park Country Club is one of the most renowned private clubs in the Carolinas, serving as an integral part of Charlotte society since the early 1920s. A family-oriented establishment committed to providing an enhanced member experience for all ages, the club underwent a 46,223 square foot expansion and renovation to increase dining options, upgrade entertainment and event spaces, and make the existing building structure more energy efficient.
A club made to entertain
Myers Park’s primary focus was to maximize space and increase the amenities available to its members. The steel-frame expansion of the two-story central portion of the building made room for a new tavern and multiple dining rooms, as well as an elevated patio terrace and outdoor covered seating. The club also underwent a complete interior renovation, including new commercial kitchens, indoor dining areas, locker rooms, and renovated ballrooms and bar areas. The club grounds were upgraded with new walking and cart paths, a new golf course entrance, and an expansive event lawn with fire pits and entertainment areas. Six different covered patios and terraces were added, complete with motorized shades, recessed electric heaters, and fireplaces, making the spaces suitable for use year-round.

We are in the final weeks of completing what will be a $28M project with Barringer and we have had a great experience. They have been a true partner all the way through the process including, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Knowing I am not the easiest of clients and having been in the role of construction manager, I unequivocally endorse them for any project you might have.

Providing best-in-class amenities to a new life sciences campus and the public community in the Research Triangle
When King Street Properties purchased the eight building 1 million+ square foot EastRidge Campus, it was clear that this property had high potential and just needed someone with a vision to modernize the campus. The crown jewel of this transformation was the construction of a new 9,200-square-foot amenity building. With many campus’ focusing on amenitizing their buildings, King Street wanted something different –something more. They worked with the Town of Morrisville to build the building to not only serve the EastRidge campus but also to serve the community and help it achieve it’s goals.
Released for construction during a time of immense uncertainty with extreme lead times and massive escalation, the project includes the use of cold formed metal framing in lieu of traditional steel and trusses due to solve the lead time constraints. Maximizing spans in the space allowed for broad sweeping community areas, training rooms and a modern fitness center complete with a programmable yoga studio. The project was completed on budget and schedule even during the most tumultuous construction time frame in recent history.
