THE CAROLINAS

We’re a fun-loving group of relationship enthusiasts who genuinely love what we do.

CARMEL COUNTRY CLUB EXPANSION & RENOVATION

Redefining the private country club member experience at a true Charlotte landmark

Carmel Country Club is a full-service private club boasting a lush 384acre landscape, upscale amenities, and multiple state-of-the-art activity facilities. Carmel underwent a significant renovation and expansion to further position itself as the most progressive club in Charlotte and redefine its members’ typical country club experience.

Expanding amenities to redefine the country club experience

The club’s 21,000 square-foot expansion included additions like the new outdoor veranda and several main attractions, including the fitness center, high-end men’s and women’s locker rooms, Grand and Junior ballrooms, and updated dining areas.

Creating a more luxurious, experiential space

An additional 67,000 square feet were renovated within the clubhouse to create a luxurious, experiential space for the club members and guests. The restrooms were updated to match the modern aesthetic, and new ones were added. The Boardroom, Presidents Room, and Founder’s Room were revitalized to create functional meeting spaces. At the same time, the main lobby is now more inviting with muted tones, creating a simplistic space that draws attention to the grand staircase.

MYERS PARK COUNTRY CLUB

The

evolution of a legacy for one of the most renowned private clubs in the Carolinas

Myers Park Country Club is one of the most renowned private clubs in the Carolinas, serving as an integral part of Charlotte society since the early 1920s. A family-oriented establishment committed to providing an enhanced member experience for all ages, the club underwent a 46,223 square foot expansion and renovation to increase dining options, upgrade entertainment and event spaces, and make the existing building structure more energy efficient.

A club made to entertain

Myers Park’s primary focus was to maximize space and increase the amenities available to its members. The steel-frame expansion of the two-story central portion of the building made room for a new tavern and multiple dining rooms, as well as an elevated patio terrace and outdoor covered seating. The club also underwent a complete interior renovation, including new commercial kitchens, indoor dining areas, locker rooms, and renovated ballrooms and bar areas. The club grounds were upgraded with new walking and cart paths, a new golf course entrance, and an expansive event lawn with fire pits and entertainment areas. Six different covered patios and terraces were added, complete with motorized shades, recessed electric heaters, and fireplaces, making the spaces suitable for use year-round.

We are in the final weeks of completing what will be a $28M project with Barringer and we have had a great experience. They have been a true partner all the way through the process including, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Knowing I am not the easiest of clients and having been in the role of construction manager, I unequivocally endorse them for any project you might have.

THE TREE FARM GOLF CLUB

CLUBHOUSE, GUEST CABINS, & AMENITIES

LOCATION

Batesburg, SC

Hotel/Motel

Building/Site

From an old pine tree farm to a luxury golf course, clubhouse, and secluded getaway

The Tree Farm is a premier destination golf club born from the vision of a PGA Tour golfer intended for golfers from across the world. Located outside of Aiken, South Carolina, this secluded property includes four guest cabins fitting ten people each and a clubhouse with a restaurant, locker rooms, and pro-shop all designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding pines using custom wood siding and roofing.

A team effort from start to finish

Despite challenges from the remote location and logistics, the construction team coordinated closely with trades and clients to maintain budget and schedule. Roads were designed to follow the natural topography, while additional features like parking lots, a golf check-in, and an entry gate were completed ahead of opening.

Craftmanship that reaches new depths

The team drilled 300-foot wells for water systems and created detailed mock-ups to ensure quality, delivering a project that harmonized functionality with its natural setting.

A

private, luxurious retreat-inspired travel experience designed for Amex members

Step into The Centurion Lounge by American Express at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, where luxury meets seamless travel. Spanning an impressive 14,000 square feet with space for over 250 guests, this exclusive retreat is designed to elevate your airport experience. Whether unwinding before a flight, refreshing in a wellappointed shower suite, or staying productive in stylish workspaces, every detail is curated for comfort and sophistication.

A masterpiece of design and craftsmanship

As one of the largest lounges in the Centurion series, the space showcases luxury and craftsmanship. High-end finishes, multiple lounge areas, and a full-service bar and kitchen bring locally inspired Southern flavors to life. Imported Italian tile, a striking three-layered bar ceiling, and fragile fiberglass light fixtures—carefully transported by ground and sea—add to its refined design. A lush living plant wall and a handpainted mural from a New York artist enhance the ambiance. In contrast, a custom walnut feature wall embossed with the American Express logo creates a distinctive and welcoming touch.

You should be very proud of the team that you guys have. Even with simple items, the team is willing to go out of their way and actually work it out with us to provide the best of the best for the client. It is rare and unique to receive this kind of involvement from construction teams.

THE WESTIN CHARLOTTE RENOVATION

A Modern Transformation of Luxury and Functionality

The Westin Charlotte recently completed a major renovation of its 700 guestrooms and public spaces, covering 277,000 square feet across 24 floors. The renovation modernized the guest experience while maintaining the hotel’s iconic charm. The first floor features a polished existing floor, three front desks, and a live planter wall with grow lights, adding a sustainable touch. Redesigned columns and a striking art wall panel elevate the lobby space. On the second floor, the team refinished wood doors and trim to save costs while making structural changes to accommodate custom light fixtures. Handmade porcelain shell wall décor adds an upscale aesthetic. The third floor saw a complete transformation, with the fitness studio enclosed and new bathrooms added. The pool was filled to create a chic lounge with a mobile bar, while a metal wood ceiling and custom millwork art pieces enhanced the sophisticated atmosphere. The 700 guestrooms were also renovated, featuring new furnishings, paint, carpeting, and fully updated bathrooms, improving comfort and luxury. Every floor, including a test kitchen in the basement, was touched by the renovation, ensuring the hotel met the needs of modern travelers. The Westin Charlotte remains a premier event destination in the city, offering a blend of luxury and functionality for all guests.

Restoring an aging downtown Charleston hotel into a luxury boutique hotel that honors its historic significance

Situated in the heart of Charleston’s Historic District, Hotel Emeline began as a sight for sore eyes. An aging building nestled in a prime location on Church Street just steps away from the historic City Market, the structure had been standing for well over 100 years having served multiple purposes, including several chain hotels. In 2019, work began to restore the building into a 212-guest room luxury boutique hotel, complete with upscale food and drinks, high-end guest rooms and a thoughtfully curated atmosphere.

Creating a modern oasis with historic significance

The project aimed to offer guests an upscale experience while honoring the building’s history. Guest rooms were rebuilt into larger spaces with modern bathrooms and local decor. The new lobby (or ‘the living room’ as hotel employees refer to it) welcomes visitors with local design elements that reflect the city’s heritage. A new restaurant and bar serve local cuisine and craft cocktails, catering to both guests and Charleston residents. An upgraded courtyard with seating and a stone fireplace, along with a new coffee shop, revitalized corridors, and a restored ballroom complete the hotel’s transformation.

Thank you for helping us budget, design, construct, project manage, engineer, value engineer, install, and do all of the other things on a daily basis that I am probably forgetting. If I could have this team on every project, I would!

First-gen upfit with all the right toppings

This 6,000 SF first-generation upfit brought a vibrant restaurant concept to life. The project included a full commercial kitchen with a custom tortilleria and a pollution control unit to eliminate cooking odors—crucial in the mixed-use building. A Renlita door connected interior and exterior bars, featuring a custom wooden bar top and mural wall, and opened to outdoor patio.

Exterior canopies were reengineered to avoid compromising the building’s vapor barrier, while site logistics required careful coordination due to limited dumpster access and an occupied tenant above. Deliveries and crane setups were scheduled to minimize disruption. Adding another layer of complexity, Barringer was executing a second build-out within the same building simultaneously. Through an extensive value engineering process, finish updates, and restroom redesigns, the team achieved $225K in savings. Despite the intricacies, the team delivered a space that’s as functional as it is visually engaging, all while navigating tight logistics and evolving design requirements.
