Individual Charity Matching 

What is individual charity matching? To support colleagues in the fantastic work they do to raise money for charity each year, from 1 March 2020 Group will now match between £500 - £1,000 of fundraising (to the nearest pound) by each individual for one charity each year.

Is there a limit to how much Group will match employees? Group has set aside £1million to match employees’ fundraising each year from 2019. Once £1million has been reached within any calendar year, i.e. 1,000 people raising £1,000 each, no more applications will be accepted.

Who is entitled to individual matching? All Barratt Developments PLC employees are entitled to between £500 - £1,000 individual matching per year. Fundraising total should be rounded up to the nearest pound.

I am fundraising for several charities – can I spread my matching between them? No – for individual charity matching, individuals may only choose one registered charity and Group will match up to £1,000 raised for that charity per year.

Can we choose a local organisations that is not a registered charity? No – for individual charity matching, the charity must be registered.

What’s the best way to raise money to maximise the amount we can have matched? We spoke to some of our divisions for ideas and tips on effective fundraising which is available to view on Our Place. Your chosen charity will also be able to give you some ideas and resources.

If I raise more than £1,000 in a year, will Group match it? Individuals are of course encouraged to raise as much money as possible, but the matching itself will only be between £500 - £1,000 in any one year.

If I raise less than £500 in a year, will Group match it? No, individuals will need to raise a minimum of £500 in order for their fundraising to be matched.

How do I tell Group how much I’ve raised and claim the matching amount? You should apply for the match-funding from your division who will pay the charity directly and then claim the money back from Group every six months alongside the Divisional Charity Matching.
