In 2026, we’re introducing changes that will strengthen our organisation, create more job opportunities, and provide increased tailored support to help people with disability thrive across our regions.

For nearly 50 years, Barossa Enterprises has been a place of connection, support, and engaging employment for people living with disability. As one of the largest employers of people with disability in regional South Australia, we are proud of our history—and committed to building an even stronger, more inclusive future for the next 50 years.

The employment landscape is changing and we are adapting with purpose.

Creating real pathways into work To meet the expectations of a changing world, we are upgrading our workplace to reflect genuine commercial conditions. This includes the introduction of automation like a pallet making machine, allowing us to improve consistency, increase export production capacity, improved wages and remain competitive in the wine packaging sector.

These upgrades also provide valuable hands-on experience in a real commercial environment, improving confidence, capability and prospects for inclusion into mainstream employment.

This may include: Work experience with local employers Work in a Social Enterprise like Barossa Enterprises Finding a mainstream job Starting a micro-enterprise or self-employment Studying New skill-building and transition programs

Skills Plus is our new training and development program for people with intellectual and neurodiverse disabilities.

Participants gain hands-on exposure and an introduction to the world of work and opportunities in areas such as: Work Health & Safety Food Safety

Timber Manufacturing Wine Production

Logistics

Through the program, participants will build the skills, confidence and work readiness needed to move into jobs of their choosing in the wider community.

Training is mapped to VET competencies, creating meaningful, recognised pathways for future employment.

With support from over 300 local business and community partners, Skills Plus strengthens the region’s capacity to provide inclusive and sustainable employment opportunities.
