Late Keith Saggers Sunday 22nd March - 1pm Keith’s 140 race team pigeons of predominantly Gaby Vandenabeele, Houben, Smeulders Janssen, and Silver Shadow lines, have been donated by Robert Saggers so that they may be sold to assist the repair and replenishment of CFA equipment following the terrible bushfires of February 7th 2009. Due to the significant illness Keith was suffering in his final year of life, many of his recordings of the parentage of each bird are almost impossible to read, thus we will not be able to provide a pedigree for any of the birds in his race team. A small number of two year olds will have pedigrees. Only two months before his death, Keith told David Wetering that he believed these were some of the finest birds he’d ever bred.

Please note: Purchasers of the Saggers birds will have their names placed into a barrel (once for every bird purchased), and at the end of the sale, names will be drawn and successful participants will be able to choose a voucher for the 50+ squeakers to be bred by top Australian fanciers and studs in spring 2009. Your own ring, or a special-race-ring can be forwarded to the breeder to be placed on your youngster if you choose. A pedigree will be supplied in all cases. The racing pigeon fraternity is asked to join together on the day to raise the maximum amount possible. Mr Bill Lawry will present a cheque to the CFA at the end of proceedings.
