At the end of the racing season the remaining race team will be disposed of. I have been racing pigeons since 1992. I have raced in Peakhurst invitation club until it folded in 1997, and in Punchbowl and Bankstown clubs until 2012. I have made many, many good friends from my association with the Pigeon community. I have always enjoyed the long hard races and have put in a lot of time and work into developing this family of Pigeons. I have been rewarded with many prizes and successes over the years and I trust they will be as successful and fulfilling for their new owners.

Written by Bert Vidler Eric is now 84 years of age and because of ill health and poor eyesight has not raced since 1992. However, he has bred from his best stock birds in 1993 and 1995 which he did not race and are for sale, with his stock and race birds. Eric Stevens started racing in the 1930s in the one time Hurstville Club and finally with the strong Illawarra Club. In both clubs, breaking all records at times. Eric has won 4 Nationals: 1st NRP 1971, 1st FRP Nat 1976, 1st Union National 1976, 1st FRP Nat 1990 with B.C . Hen IHPS 89-321 which is in the sale. Eric has won 7 x 1st prizes from Bundaberg, 4 x 1st prizes from Gympie and countless placing’s from the longer races. Eric won 1st Fed averages on 1984 and 1st Fed averages in 1985. He was always in the top ten in Fed averages on other years. It just goes to show the class of his birds. Bloodlines are of the old Hansenne Barker Jurian Crane Logan, Pedie McLean. A cross from selected flyers Kevin Boyce and Bruce Balderson (S.A) has helped to keep the high standard of his birds. ERIC STEVENS – SYDNEY’S CRACK FLYER OF THE FIFITIES, SIXTIES, SEVENTIES AND EIGHTIES In 1993 I purchased 4 pairs of birds from Eric Stevens, 3 of these pairs proved to be goldmines. They have been the backbone of my stock loft, always kept straight but crossed for racing. The S. Bishop pigeons have also been kept straight to cross with the E. Stevens birds with great results. Recently I purchased 4 pigeons from B&R Harkom of VHA, 3 of these crossed with the E. Stevens proved to be a great cross for the hard races.

In 1998 Steve Bishop gave me the last round eggs of his stock birds Ref 1 2 3 & 6. I retained these for stock when I found out Steve was selling his pigeons. The best pigeons came from 2 x hens 1034 & 1035 bred from R1 to his daughter R6, when paired back to two cocks 177 & 333.
