RACING PIGEON AUCTION-FRED DIMELLA- SAHPA

SUNDAY 18TH OCTOBER, 2009 AT SAHPA HALL, BAULDERSTONE RD GEPPS CROSS, SA. AT 10:30 AM, BIRDS ON DISPLAY FROM 9AM. AUCTIONEER: RAY FEWINGS. I have decided to devote time to a family project next year meaning that I will not be racing pigeons in 2010 and possibly not in 2011. Therefore, I have now a selection of very well credentialed, road tested pigeons that could remain inactive for possibly two years. I am of the opinion that it is not beneficial for pigeons to be neither racing nor breeding for that period of time. Accordingly, I am offering pigeons which have either contributed to my success or are closely related to the key pigeons in my loft. My Performances in the SAHPA Overall Point Score against approx 250-300 members in the past 4 yrs have been: 2005-1st position 2006-1st position 2007-1st position 2008-10th position I was unable to fly the last 3 races in 2008 due to work commitments and have a similar problem in the 2009 season and will cease flying shortly. Bloodlines The main families of my pigeons are DeWeerdt, Wickham, Pryor, Goodger and Janssen. The background of my birds is as follows: I was fortunate to be gifted some pigeons by Keith Wickham in my early days of racing. Later I added quality pigeons from John Pryor’s auction and Grant Paterson. In addition stock from the Saggers Bros had an impact on my loft. In 1996 I purchased, in partnership with two other fanciers, twelve DeWeerdt pigeons from Andy Gregson, of Lancashire in the UK. This proved to be a master stroke as Andy had a very good relationship with Emiel DeWeerdt and had procured many birds from his champions. These 1996 arrivals, therefore, carried bloodlines close to the top performers and this was reflected in the success for which they were immediately responsible. That success has contributed to this day. The birds on offer carry the bloodlines that have been responsible for 4 SAHPA winners and those pigeons have enabled me to be ultra-competitive in the strong SAHPA competition culminating in 3 consecutive recent Aggregate points championships. WEBSITES FOR CATALOGUES: The catologue will be placed on the SAHPA and Pigeon Journal websites. www.sahpa.asn.au and www.pigeonjournal.com under the upcoming events link.
