BACKGROUND When we started in this sport our aim was to win as much races as possible isn’t that everyone’s aim. We sourced birds from all over Australia from studs and flyers that where flying at the top of their game. We tried to bring in youngsters to race them hard and select them at the end of the season and then we will move them to the stock loft we only ever flew with old birds one season and they were unraced 2 year olds. The results in this catalogue where with youngsters with the exception of 3 birds which where unraced babies ,the results here are from four seasons flown with Punchbowl however we did do our apprenticeship years at Greenacre with flew juniors one year with a five bird limit we beat the seniors six times that year. The following year we flew seniors at Greenacre we toped the CCF fed from Ivanhoe 630 kms 400 miles won the Club YBD AAD lost the Club 500 mile by a second won the Club long average lost the Club pointscore on the last race we were 13 and 14 at that time. In the sale you will see BANK 99 745 REF A, AUST 05 12612 LOT 18, AUST 05 12681 REF C, CCF 06 17817 LOT 53, which show up again and again we didn’t plan to inbreed or line breed but these pigeon really dominated our loft so now the pairings will usually have these pigeons on both sides with a cross usually from outside. When we did bring pigeons in they were mated to our best then raced then selected and then put back into stock we went down the line very fast also we tried to keep our stock loft with nothing over the age five unless they were really special. Medicines where used at a minimum aiming for pigeons that can take knocks and be raced hard and not fall ill cause there immune system wasn’t strong and hardened In my opinion the birds on offer today are a modern fast pigeon that can race all the way through the program that develop and mature fast this is the way we selected them they had to perform as youngster’s to stay in our loft by doing this we have developed a pigeon that matures much faster and performs in its first year on the track. Due to unforeseen circumstances we have decided to stop racing .We will be offering all our birds for sale with the exception of 10 pairs. We didn’t plan this sale we could have catered for the “pedigree” but paired them to the best of our ability. Best to Best that’s what got us to this level. We loft trained the youngsters this year until the decision was made not to race this year. Due to work commitments and a young family and not enough time we are laying off the pigeons for the time been. The birds on offer won 16 first Club 10 first sections in 2012. Smashing Club records for the record amount of wins, Also 8 in a row never done before in the history of Punchbowl Club. These results were achieved out of a loft that started pre-season training with approx. 75 young birds and by the end of 2012 race season over 60 percent were winners or equal winners. TESTIMONIAL I have known Joe for quite a few years now and in this time have watched the team of B&Y Hawa progress into a racing force with results that we all strive to attain. The achievements of brothers Bill and Joe in the CCF 2012 North West racing season in winning the Overall Federation Pointscore in a loft position in which was far from what would be described as favorable for racing that line were in my eyes one of the most notable performances in recent years. Having sourced European birds from the very best lofts and studs in the country it’s not hard to understand how such great results were achieved coupled with perfect loft management and training I believe this loft will continue to have astounding results for many years to come. Due to unforeseen circumstances unfortunately the Hawa team was unable to compete in the 2013 season having had to relocate the birds just two weeks before they had planned to start pre-season tossing. I was fortunate enough to have the space to house both the stock and race birds and the quality has to be seen and handled to understand how the brothers were able to reach such heights in all levels Club, sectional and Federation. What is on offer I believe will produce many future foundation stock birds and it represents an awesome opportunity for flyers to improve their results with young breeding stock. B & Y HAWA MAJOR REDUCTION SALE SUNDAY 13 JULY 2014 SID GARD In 2010 Joe and I visited Sid Gard (CCF) to purchase some of his Staff Van Reet pigeons Sid was really standing out with his results he had achieved. We waited a long time for Sid to par with them, He was planning not to race one season so he decided to breed us 20 youngsters to race unfortunately we never raced in 2010 or 2011 so we decided to stock some of these youngsters. We have only raced one season with the Gard’s they were very lightly used since we had a whole stock loft full of our own pigeons, of the pigeons we breed there were six that we used. All of them breed winners with three notable performances 553 & 552 are from the same nest and 567.Below is some of the birds we purchased and produced for us. (Note we only raced one season with the Gardy pigeons) MRBA 09 553 B.Bar Cock we raced two youngster’s from him one was our champion racer PUN 11 393 B.Bar Hen double winner Topped the section twice with mins ahead MRBA 09 552 B.Bar Hen Raced two youngsters from this hen one is our champion racer PUN 11 4630 B.Chequer Hen won Club YBD 4630 also came with winners on five different occasions. JASON PAYNE In 2009 we attended the Joe & Jason Payne sale knowing what these guys have achieved we knew we had to get some in our loft. This loft in just four seasons from 2004 to 2008(did not race in 2006) they have won 47 Club races, 38 section fed races and 12 open federation races against thousands of birds. So we attended the sale and purchased 5 birds and it wasn’t a mistake we made.
