Tool Ambassador - Tools with a Mission (TWAM)
SEITINUTROPPO REETNULOV
The main role of a Tool Ambassador is to be the first contact in their local community. Tool Ambassadors are the people that members of the public contact to donate tools. Members of the public will contact you via email or phone. They will give you a Tools With A Mission (TWAM) email that goes on their website. You can then arrange to either pick the tools up from them, or have them dropped off at your house, whichever you prefer. You will then need to store them until a TWAM van comes to you to collect them. This can either be on a rota basis, or when you ring your named Van Manager to ask for a collection. Many collectors also promote themselves in local magazines and notice boards. Tool Ambassadors need to be enthusiastic about what the organisation does and the transforming power of tools. Many people donating tools do so following bereavement, so they need sensitive people willing to stop and talk rather than rush off. In others words, kind and friendly people! If you are driving to collect, you will need a valid UK Driving Licence, but if you become a drop-off point this is not needed. Legally, they will also need to check you have adequate motor insurance and your car has an MOT. However, this is not needed for a drop-off point. You will also need somewhere you can store tools awaiting collection from the TWAM van. They ask all volunteers to complete a simple application form either sent by them or completed online at www.timefortwam.uk. Once they have this back, they will invite you for an informal discussion which will ideally by on Zoom, though can be done by phone where needed. They will then take up a couple of references before arranging for completion of some final paperwork. They will process all applications as soon as they can, and you should expect to hear back, quickly, at each stage. Obviously, delays can sometimes occur due to the postal service or if your referees take a while to respond.

Community Ambassador - Tools with a Mission (TWAM)
SEITINUTROPPO REETNULOV
Groups such as Rotary, U3A, and WI often ask for talks about what TWAM do and their Community Ambassador volunteer would be the person to deliver these in the local area. They will provide talks and presentations that you can use, and for their busiest Community Ambassadors, they can also provide projectors and screens. They ask our ambassadors to try and get their own meetings as well as waiting for those referred by the organisation. An email or phone call to a local group will often lead to an invitation. This is a great role for a confident speaker who wants to share the passion to transform lives through skills training and tools. You’ll need access to transport, and if you use your car, legally they will also need to check you have adequate motor insurance and your car has an MOT. They ask all volunteers to complete a simple application form either sent by them or completed online at www.timefortwam.uk. Once they have this back, they will invite you for an informal discussion which will ideally by on Zoom, though can be done by phone where needed. An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Perinatal Mental Health Team for our successful bid to expand our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with lived experience of Perinatal Mental Health illness to be involved in delivering peer support to help women referred to us recover, providing peer-based interventions. The role will involve working with service users, carers, Trust staff, community groups and organisations. You will have good interpersonal skills as the role involves building strong trusting relationships with women and their families during a critical time in their lives. Ideally, you should have experience of supporting the development of peer-led or co-produced groups and projects. Please note, this post is only open to applications from women who have lived perinatal mental health experience, or men who have cared for someone with perinatal mental illness. All applicants must have excellent communication skills and confidence and enthusiasm for working with perinatal partner agencies in networks that extend beyond traditional specialist mental health boundaries. We have 6 posts available to cover Barnsley, Wakefield, Dewsbury, Huddersfield and Calderdale. We are able to consider part-time applications. We also welcome applications from people from diverse communities. The service operates Monday-Friday; 9.00am-5.00pm, however successful applicants would be expected to have the flexibility to work occasional extended hours to facilitate service effectiveness. For further details, contact Claire Lowe, Perinatal Service Manager by emailing claire.Lowe@swyt.nhs.uk or visit www.jobs.nhs.uk/xi/vacancy/917187880
