Local Fundraising Help Barnsley Youth Choir take part in the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe!

Barnsley Youth Choir have launched a Crowdfunder to raise the money to support their 180 amazing children to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2022.

GNISIARDNUF LACOL

Barnsley Youth Choir was established in 2009. It is a registered charity run by volunteers that seeks to provide outstanding opportunities for young people who live in Barnsley and has developed a reputation for excellence. In what will be an incredible and memorable experience for the choir to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe, they need some local support to get there. You can simply donate to the cause or choose one of their 'rewards' starting from pledging just £10 or more, which will get your name in the Edinburgh Experience Concert Programme. They will recognise your support by placing your name in the programme that will be seen by up to 800 people in 2 concerts. It is a small way of thanking you for your support of the cause. There are a variety of rewards to choose from as part of your donation including VIP tickets to local concerts, supporters polo shirts, all the way up to sponsoring a child to go to the Fringe, which is perhaps their most important reward. This pledge provides support so that a child is able to take part in the 2022 Fringe Festival. It's a huge gesture and one that is life changing for the young people that participate in the choir. Your name will be printed on the back of the tour tshirts that the children will wear and BYC will recognise you on social media, website and in events such as their prestigious Black Tie Gala Dinner. Have Your Say Across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw, the region's Volunteer centres are looking to potentially develop a system that can help volunteers move between volunteering organisations much easier without having to repeat the same recruitment paperwork or training.

YAS RUOY EVAH

This system will also act as a record of the knowledge, skills and experience you have gained during your time volunteering. This can be used to help secure future employment or enhance your current career prospects. This will be a free to use, online system where you can set up your own account that moves with you throughout your volunteering journey. It will also have a printable option, so records can be completed manually. You, as a volunteer, will be in control of what information you share with organisations. They will only be able to access this information with your permission through a unique code, known only to you. If you move to a new volunteering opportunity or want your records to be given to a future employer, once you have given written permission, your details can be shared, either by the next volunteering placement accessing the system, avoiding unnecessary duplication in identity checks and training, or printed for your potential employer. It also can help volunteers who may have certain barriers to volunteering, by helping them to only complete their personal details once. We have created a survey that would help us to see if a system like this would be helpful to prospective volunteers, so would appreciate your time in giving us some feedback and thoughts. The survey is anonymous, and we encourage everyone to share their views, even if they haven't volunteered before. You can access the survey by copying this link https://forms.gle/NdQbKQ8Enf2nNgMQA

To help them understand how well they have done and how they can improve future services, they would welcome your feedback. Please, could you take a few moments of your time to share your views in their survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/HWJJMNZ

If you would like support to complete the survey or require a print/translated version or different format please email involvingpeople@swyt.nhs.uk or contact, Zahida Mallard on 07771345177, and they will be happy to help.
