YOUR NEW FOOD WASTE RECYCLING COLLECTION SERVICE
Weekly Food Waste recycling collections will begin in the week starting 30 March 2026. Place your food waste outside on the same day as your usual recycling and waste collection. Please do not use your outdoor food waste bins before your first collection date.
Please ensure that you put your bin out for collection at the boundary of your property, in a spot where it is safe for others.
WHAT WILL I BE ABLE TO RECYCLE?
Please use your brown kitchen caddy to recycle ALL cooked and uncooked food waste, including:
uneaten
and plate
Remember to recycle your mouldy and out of date food, removing any packaging
Please do not put any of these materials in your caddy
Packaging of any kind (including cling film or silver foil.)
Any liquid such as milk, soup, gravy etc.
Oil or liquid fat
Garden waste
Any material that is not food waste
HOW TO USE THIS SERVICE
To enable you to recycle your food waste we will provide:
A brown kitchen caddy for collecting food waste indoors (dishwasher safe)

From your kitchen caddy to your outdoor bin
For houses and street level properties: If you live in a house, take your food waste to your brown outdoor food waste bin, then lock the lid securely.
Houses will receive a larger lockable brown outdoor caddy.
A sample roll of liners for the caddy
You will only receive one introductory roll of liners. After that you can buy more liners at your local supermarket. Liners help keep your caddy clean but are not essential for collection.
Flats will have access to a brown wheelie bin or an on-street food waste bin

If you live in a flat: If you live in a flat, take your food waste to your brown wheelie bin or on-street outdoor food waste bin, then close the lid.
