All screenings are at Fønix Multiplex and Aladdin Cinema. Guests must collect tickets (free of charge) for every screening they wish to attend (exception: the award ceremony, Saturday May 7th at 18.00. Summer vacation, the first tender stirrings of romance and cool new gang headquarters – life could be perfect for The Crocodiles, were there not strange goings-on in the plant where Ollie and Maria's parents work. The factory is facing lay-offs and maybe even closure, meaning their parents may lose their jobs, even their home.

Norwegian winter, early 20th century. On the island Bastøy, in the fjord of Oslo, a group of young outcast boys live under a sadistic regime. Mental and physical abuse is used by the guards and the superintendent to straighten the boys. Instead of being educated, the boys are used as cheap manual labour. Aged from 11 to 18, the boys survive by adapting to these inhuman conditions. They are rough, they negotiate and they buy and sell. One day, Erling, another young outcast arrives at the island, but he possesses a different agenda.
In self-defence, he has beaten to death a military police officer and will be transferred to an adult prison next spring, leading to his certain death. It’s Midsummer Eve, the brightest night of the year. During the celebrations Jon and Line escape to their secret hideout in the forest. However, the idyll passes as Line has to leave. This is the last time Jon sees her. This is a story about finding the way back.

This year the annual conference for film professionals at the Kristiansand International Children’s Film Festival brings us to a topic not usually addressed within the film industry for young people. However, we aim to demystify the gaming world and introduce the capabilities of incorporating video gaming into festival programmes, educational strategies and industry cooperation.
Speakers include key note speaker Mark Sample, Creative Director of games developers Ubisoft, Andrea Dressen and Matteo Lollini, curators of the Ar¬chivio Videoludico Project at the Cinteca di Bologna, Ine Marit Torsvik Bertelsen and Nils Thomas, adviser on video games and coordinator of Kinokino (Norway), Paulien Dresscher, Head of the New Media Department Cinekid International Film festival, The Netherlands and Adam Graham will present his company Ant Creative specialising in video gaming exhibition and education in conjunction with film exhibition.
The world of the moving image no longer belongs solely to the film industry. The con¬ference aims to open up the new and developing format of video games – influenced by, working with and alongside the film industry – and the opportunities it can bring to festivals and educators.

VERA MICAELSEN (Norway) is a freelancer and author. She has published several books for children and has worked as a feature film/long film consultant at the Norwegian Film Institute. She has worked for NRK as a producer, project manager and presenter.

ECFA AWARD
STIG M PEDERSEN (Norway) works as film and information manager at SF Kino Stavanger/Sandnes. He has an education in culture and media with a Masters in media-studies from the University of Manchester.
TONJE HARDERSEN (Norway) works as a children's film consultant in Film & Kino. She is also secretary general of the European children's film organization ECFA.
DON QUIXOTE AWARD BEST FILM IN THE YOUTH SECTION International jury appointed by the International Federation of Film Societies.
KATRIN HOFFMANN (Germany) was born 1959. After her master of german literature and theater science, she began to work for different non commercial cinema organisations, and wrote a book for children about inventions that made cinema possible. Among other things she is writing for a film magazine, and since 2005 she is the head of the Children`s Film Festival that is part of the Munich Filmfestival.
ANDRÉ VIANE (Portugal) was born in Belgium. In 1983 he moved to Southern Portugal where he continued painting and farming, whilst attending various Film Festivals as a journalist for radio and written press. He is the founder and director of the Tavira Film Club, of the annual open air European and Non-European Film Shows of Tavira and is the driving force of a Bob Dylan Tribute Band
ATLE HUNNES ISAKSEN (Norway) lives in Oslo and is educated as a film scholar. Is currently working for The Norwegian Federation of Film Societies and has been an active member of the Film Society movement since 1998. Atle is also a member of the Executive Committee in The International Federation of Film Societies (FICC).
ELIN OLUFSEN (Norway) has worked at the journal Film & Kino since 1998, where she is the editorial director. She has a degree in film, journalism and art history and has previously worked with theater.
SIMINA BANULESCU (Romania) is based in Bucharest, preparing to finish school as a student of the National Theatre and Film University, majoring in Screenwriting and Film Studies. She is currently working for the “Kinodiseea” International Children’s Film Festival in Bucharest.
MIKK GRANSTRÖM (Estonia) is the manager of the Children's Film Festival Just Film in Tallinn, Estonia. He has worked at the film festival for 10 years and has also made short films and worked with television production.
