Throughout 2011 and continuing throughout 2012 ECFA have been participating in a Europe wide project to fight Homophobia and gender stereotypes. ECFA's annual seminar on April 27th in Kristiansand will give educators and media professionals an opportunity to gain an insight in to the reasoning behind the project, previews of films and educational material and to meet the professionals involved in this ambitious pan-European undertaking

ECFA has been a key partner in this project, selecting and presenting relevant short films to participate in the educational toolkit to be used throughout the partnering European Countries. ECFA will continue their involvement through promotion and distribution of the films across the festival circuit after completion of the project. The annual seminar in Kristiansand will give educators and media professionals an opportunity to gain an insight in to the reasoning behind the project, previews of films and educational material and to meet the professionals involved in this ambitious pan-European undertaking.

The RAINBOW project connects EU gay and lesbian associations, schools and media professionals promoting the rights of children and young people to their identity and who fight against homophobia, in order to study stereotypes and challenge them with educational tools.

FILM&KINO´S CHILDREN'S FILM AWARD BEST FILM IN THE MAIN PROGRAMME A Norwegian jury grants NOK 75 000 to Norwegian distribution of the best film for children.

ANNE-MARIE OTTER works as film advisor at Film & Kino, where she is responsible for the institution’s funding of the distribution and versioning of quality films for children and youth. She is also contact person for matters concerning school cinema and other activities aimed at young audiences.

ARILD ANDRESEN had directed some 100 commercials, shorts and an Emmy nominated TV series, Andresen before he made his debut as a feature film director with the highly acclaimed youth comedy The Liverpool Goalie in 2010. The film had its international premiere at the Berlinale in 2011, where it won the Crystal Bear for Best Film in the 14plus section. This year’s THE ORHEIM COMPANY has already won several awards.

HILDE HEM is director of Notodden Cinema, which was recently awarded school cinema of the year. Hilde runs a yearly school cinema festival in Notodden and she has visited a large number of international festival. Hilde holds a bachelor degree in cultural studies from Bø University College.

PETRA SLATINŠEK (Slovenia) is the head of the film educational programme at Kinodvor cinema in Ljubljana, Slovenia, awarded for best young audiences programme in Europa Cinemas network in 2010. Her main occupation is cinemas's children's programme named Kinobalon and children sections at Ljubljana International Film Festival and Isola Cinema Film Festival. She also founded Elephant – animated film educational programme at Animateka International Animated Film Festival.

ROSE-MARIE STRAND (Sweden) is responsible for the films for children and young people to be distributed at Folkets Bio – Swedens most important independent distributor of quality films. She has also been a member of the ECFA board.

STIG ANDRESEN (Norway) is responsible for Norwegian Film Institute’s activities aimed at children and youth. He holds a master degree in film studies and has worked as a journalist and a media teacher. His master thesis dealt with gaming in films.
