Kamathipura was an alien space to this group of 5 when they first talked about the lives and struggles of sex workers. They could hardly conceive that only 6 months later they would be strolling through its bylanes to meet and talk with the residents. On doing some background research they realized that a fair amount of study had already been done with female sex-workers. But one question that was left unanswered was the prospects for these women when they crossed a certain age; would the customers approach them as much, would they get paid as much, were there any options for a change in occupation afterwards…
Their final topic is the “Livelihood of Female Sex Workers after they cross the Age of 35” through which they explore the complex relations between age and profession.
