Learn About Dallas Egbert Egbertwasa16yearoldcomputersciencestudentatMSU,andwasknownbyhisroommateto disappearwithoutanyindicationastowherehewasgoing.Whenhedidnotreturntohis dormitoryafteraperiodoftwodays,hisroommatedecidedtocontactthepolice.1 Theprivate detectivehiredtosearchforEgbert,highwaypatrolmanWilliamDear,hadatendencyforthe flamboyant,citinghimselfas“therealJamesBond.”2 Egbertleftasuicidenote,statingonlythat hewouldliketobecremated.ThisnotewasdiscoveredalongsidehiswritingonD&D,which causedDeartobelievethetwomustberelated.Egbertwasdiscoveredalive,butcommitted suicideayearlater.ThiseventsparkedthelargermovementagainstD&D,especiallybecause individualsbelievedthatitcausedharmtoEgbertandmanyotheryoungstudentswhosuffered thesamefate.
