PROLOGUE Hai pals!!!

“To have more, we must genuinely thank more’’ Mercy and blessing to God Almighty for his greatness have allowed us to present "BARCODE" as the first edition of English literature students' E-bulletin. We will never forget to thank everyone who assisted and contributed to the creation of our first E-bulletin edition.

We are pleased to introduce Barcode as an E-bulletin for English literature students, with this edition marking the beginning of Barcode's debut. In our daily lives, barcodes encode product information into bars and alphanumeric letters, making it considerably faster and easier to ring up purchases in stores or track inventory in warehouses.

This is what we intend to do with this E-bulletin. We hope we can provide accurate information and helpful information for the readers. Not only providing credible information in the field of English literature, but Barcode also offers other information that can be used to encourage intellectuality.

We hope that barcodes will be meaningful and inspiring to everyone.

Let Your Music Tell was appointed as the initial theme and opened the barcode edition, where music is usually interpreted as deep feelings and emotions.

ESA CORNER Music, in my opinion, is an expression of emotions.

Every note, phrase, rhythm, and even the dynamics have important roles as a heartfelt expression. So far, music has been an outpouring of my heart about the ups and downs of a life's journey that is filled with many struggles, a lot of sadness, laughter and joy. All of which are music to me and I can express myself well through music. There are numerous expressions that cannot be measured in words, and even through music, it is not always possible to convey an implied message. hayubinar

ESA CORNER I agree with the statement, “Music is the universal language of mankind’’. When we can understand the lyrics and meaning of the song, we will get the real meaning of the song. In my opinion, our favorite type of music reflects the personality we have. When someone likes mellow pop songs, we can guess that they have soft and relaxed characteristics. A study published in the Cambridge Psychological Science journal shows that energetic and talkative people prefer acoustic music, whereas open-minded people dislike slow and soft music. This type of person likes current music that is motivating, complex, and dynamic.

ESA SPOTLIGHT EFF x JOB FAIR 2022

May 2022

EFF is an annual program, held by Brawijaya University’s English Student Association (ESA), in the form of a webinar aimed at improving participants' English language abilities and understanding of what it can accomplish for our future. EFF held on Saturday, 21 May 2022 by raising the theme “Exploring Digital Era through Content Writing” aimed to give the participants basic knowledge about content writing.

Presenting Fiqhi Ashabul Jannah as the speaker, EFF attended by more than 100 participants from outside and inside Brawijaya Student.

As the follow up program ESA also provides “ESA Job Fair”, It will provide a forum for participants to share ideas, particularly about the future professional world as it relates to English Literature students' study programs, abilities, and interests. The theme Into The Future was chosen with the purpose of making this event beneficial to the participants and improving their confidence to take steps for their future career.

With the 4 company partners Condfe, Ai4impact, Ocean Group, and Creative Faith ESA Job Fair gave the participants precious experience and also more knowledge about each sector.

ESA Job Fair held on Saturday 28 May 2022 via Zoom conference attended by more that 100 participants. So don't worry if you missed out on these two expensive experiences since ESA will be offering more programs in the coming days.

What's Going on?!

The Coachella Festival started with Paul Tolletts plan to book the empire Polo Grounds for the Pearl Jam Concert, The venue is quite large and suitable for large-scale musical concerts.The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an annual music festival held over two weekends in Indio, the festival is held over two weekends, April 15-17 and April 22-24, 2022.

Coachella, not like other music festivals, is known for highlighting performers and artists who aren't well-known in the media or on the radio. Coachella is a destination for up-and-coming indie musicians After a tw- festival hiatus, Coachella 2022 has made an amazing show.

Amazing line up 2022 includes Harry Styles, Doja Cat, Daniel Caesar, NIKI, 21 Savage, and more than 100 singers.

We are also delighted that two brilliant Indonesian musicians, NIKI, and Rich Brian participated in this year's Coachella line-up, following Dougy Mandagi, who was the first musician to perform at the event in 2010.

What's Going on?!

NIKI's performance was truly stunning on the Coachella 2022 stage. The singer, whose full name is Nicole Zefanya, sang the Indonesia song 'Sempurna' by Andra and the backbone at Coachella on Friday, April 15, 2022 local time.

Rich Brian in his performance shows Monas as the stage decoration and it really makes us proud as Indonesian. Rich Brian himself appeared right after NIKI by singing Gospel as his first song. He then performed a number of other songs, such as Froyo, Glow Like Dat, and Drive Safe.We hope that more Indonesian young people would participate in international events in the future.

Indonesia Relives Offline Music Concerts in 2022 Which one is your bucket list ?

After a lengthy period of time, over two years without a concert, people now can finally enjoy live music with enthusiasm.

So here is the list for the upcoming concert

Justin Bieber World Tour The Justice World Tour in Jakarta concert will be held at the Bung Karno Madya Stadium. Ticket prices for Justin Bieber's concerts also vary, ranging from Rp. 1.5 million to Rp. 8.5 million and ticket sales have been open since March 29, 2022.

Head in The Clouds Head In The Clouds will be performed in Indonesia in 2022, according to 88rising's recent tweet on Twitter. The tweet, "TO JAKARTA WITH LOVE. WE WILL BE SEEING YOU #HITCJAKARTA2022," wrote @88rising.

There is no information about the time and lineup of artists who will fill the Head In The Cloud concert.

THE BOYZ WORLD TOUR : THE B-ZONE The upcoming THE BOYZ concert in Indonesia has been formally announced by Mecimapro, an Indonesian concert promoter. A show will be held in Jakarta as part of THE BOYZ WORLD TOUR: THE B-ZONE tour.

The Boyz world tour: THE B-ZONE IN JAKARTA will take place on July 9, 2022, according to Mecimapro's social media account. The concert will take place in Jakarta's Tennis Indoor Stadium, Senayan.

KV Fest 2022 B.I. and Afgan will perform at the music festival organized by promoter Kultvizion. B.I. and Afgan were announced as performers at the KV Fest 2022 on May 19 via Kultvizion's official social media. The festival will be held at Istora Senayan Jakarta on August 8, 2022.

Pestapora Pestapora, a new festival, attracted much attention because it presented many line-ups across genres and generations. Starting from Tulus, Kangen Band Reunion, Inul Daratista, Efek Rumah Kaca, The Sigit, to King Nassar.The festival will occur in Kemayoran on September 23-25, 2022.

We The Fest We The Fest will take place on September 23-25, 2022, and will be conducted offline for the first time. We The Fest has not revealed the lineup for this year's festival. However, We The Fest often will feature a variety of well-known overseas musicians or bands.

Synchronize Fest Synchronize Fest, a multi-genre music festival will be held offline for three days on October 7, 8, and 9, 2022, at Gambir Expo Kemayoran in Jakarta. After a twoyear hiatus due to the pandemic, this festival is supposed to be a pleasant surprise for homeland music lovers.

Synchronize Fest's theme this year is 'Local More Vocal.' The concept is similar to the Synchronize Fest movement since its beginning in 2016., which has supported and encouraged Indonesian musicians since the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.

Code mixing in Indonesia famous movie “Layangan Putus”

People use the language in

various ways, one of which is code-mixing. Because of the influence of popular movies like Layangan Putus, which involve code-mixing, People frequently use IndonesianEnglish code-mixing. People who viewed this film may have been exposed to every part of it, including the usage of language and the codemixing phenomenon in it.
