SUNDAY, DEC 13th: COMPETITION DAY give your best performance every time you step on stage!
👠 REHEARSAL
Rehearsal is optional but highly recommended, as it allows each contestant to walk the runway, get comfortable on stage, and build confidence before the competition begins. Contestant rehearsal times will vary by division. Rehearsal times will be released the week of the event, with arrival times scheduled between 7:00 AM and 9:30 AM. Wear casual, neat attire with your runway shoes. If you are doing your own hair and makeup, you should have your hair and makeup done before rehearsal.
🎬 COMPETITION EVENTS
Experienced division leaders will be on hand to guide you throughout the day and help everything run smoothly. The excitement begins when the competition starts at 11:00 AM, with doors opening for guests at 10:30 AM. A ticket is required for admission. The awards ceremony will take place immediately following the competition, as we celebrate the hard work and standout performances of the day. Callbacks are for contestants only and generally take place between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM, directly following the awards ceremony. More details on page 14.

competition breakdown Every contestant will participate in the Runway and TV Commercial competitions.
runway competition Contestants will walk the runway in one ALL BLACK outfit while the MC announces their contestant number in front of the judges. No turns or pivots on the runway-simply walk straight to the end. Strike a pose at the end of the runway (H Pose), then walk back along the top of the “T” before exiting. Once every contestant has had their individual walk, all contestants in the division will walk together in “parade” style. This gives the judges one final look at everyone before scoring. Get ready to own the runway, strike your best pose, and show the judges your confidence!
tv commercial competition Contestants will perform a 15-second memorized commercial in a solid vibrant colored shirt live on stage and displayed on a large video screen, framed from the waist up, so judges can clearly see facial expressions and delivery. No props allowed. This is your chance to show off your creativity, personality, and stage presence! Contestants may write their own commercial or perform one inspired by a favorite TV ad. We do not recommend singing in your commercial. The commercial should feature only one character. Bring your energy and let your personality shine— this is your moment to make an PAGE 7 impression!
EXTRA COMPETITIONS Do you want to showcase your acting skills and stand out on stage? Are you a singer or dancer with professional training? The agents, managers, and top industry professionals want to see more of your talent and this is your chance to impress them! On Saturday, December 12th, 2026, we’re hosting five OPTIONAL competitions, where you can show your advanced performing skills. These competitions will take place directly after the workshops. MONOLOGUE: Contestants will perform a 45-second memorized monologue. Scripts should be age-appropriate and showcase your acting ability. Comedic or lighthearted scripts are preferred to highlight personality and stage presence. IMPROV: Contestants will be given a scenario to improvise with a scene partner for 30 seconds. This is your chance to show creativity, quick thinking, and collaboration. SINGING: Contestants will perform their pre-approved 2-minute song. Bring your energy and let your voice shine! DANCING: Contestants will perform their pre-approved 2-minute dance routine. Express yourself and show your rhythm, style, and stage confidence. STAND-UP COMEDY: Contestants will perform a pre-approved original 1-minute comedic set. Showcase your humor, timing, and personality while keeping it ageappropriate and fun!
Contestants must submit a video audition of their performance no later than November 7th, 2026, to qualify for the Singing, Dancing and Stand-Up Comedy competitions. Call the Barbizon Competition Team or click the button to register—don’t miss this chance to stand out! The extra competitions are an amazing opportunity to showcase your talent, and the cost is $85 per competition. To secure your spot on the roster, payment must be received by November 20th, 2026. competition outfits You will need two outfits for the competition. Outfits should be upscalecasual and age-appropriate—no formal wear or business attire. Your clothing should support—not define—your overall presentation. You will not be judged on your outfits. What matters most is how you carry yourself, your confidence, and your overall model potential. Focus on showing your personality, poise, and stage presence, and you’ll shine no matter what you wear!
runway attire For the runway, contestants should wear a fashionable, all-black outfit of any style—no formal attire! Shoes: Choose shoes that complement your outfit and that you can walk confidently in, such as sneakers, heels, boots, or flats. For models, heels are strongly recommended. Shoes should be black or neutral in color. Flip-flops and Crocs are not permitted. Accessories: Belts and headbands are allowed. No jewelry is permitted, and all facial piercings must be removed.
hair and makeup
A natural but groomed image always looks best and allows your confidence and personality to shine on stage. Keep your look clean, polished, and age-appropriate—avoid fake eyelashes, white eyeliner, and heavy lipstick.
PAGE 10

hair and makeup Hair should be pulled back away from your face (headbands are allowed). Makeup should be simple, natural, and camera-ready—polished but understated. If you’re doing your own hair and makeup, the majority should be completed before rehearsal. You will only have time for light touch-ups between rehearsal and the event, so please plan accordingly. A freelance hair and makeup team will be on-site to provide optional professional styling for contestants. This service is available for an additional fee and payment is made directly to the stylist. More details are on page 19.

An editable version of the photo form template can be found attached to this email. The document needs to have up to date photos, contact information and measurements. CALLBACKS & FOLLOW UP Following the awards ceremony, selected contestants will be invited to callbacks—an opportunity to meet directly with agents and managers. Dressed in your final competition look, this is your moment to connect, engage, and let your personality come through. Contestants ages 12 and under may be accompanied by one parent; those 13 and older will attend independently. Approach this experience with confidence and authenticity—this is where first impressions can turn into real opportunities. After the competition weekend, contestants are encouraged to follow up with the industry professionals who requested to see them during callbacks. Sending a thoughtful thank-you email is an important step and should be done as soon as possible, ideally within two weeks of the competition.
Important Follow Up Guidelines: Do not send mass emails. Each message should be personalized to the specific industry professional you are contacting. Be mindful of their role in the industry (agent, manager, casting director, etc.), as responsibilities and opportunities vary. For example, casting directors do not offer representation. Only contact VIPs who were listed on your callback sheet, unless otherwise advised by Barbizon USA. If you receive contract offers or work opportunities, please contact Barbizon at competition@barbizonusa.com for guidance.
PAGE 14
A professional, personalized follow-up helps you make a lasting impression and keeps the door open for future opportunities, so take the time to do it right!
FOLLOW UP email tips Following callbacks, a thoughtful follow-up email is an essential step in maintaining your connection with industry professionals. Your message should be professional, personalized, and express appreciation for their time and interest. Be sure to include your contestant name, contestant number, and a recent, clean photo to help them easily identify and remember you.
do: Use a clear, relevant subject line Begin with a professional greeting to the VIP you are contacting Introduce yourself by including your name and contestant number (or note that you are the parent of the contestant) Thank them for the callback and the opportunity to meet during your interview Ask about next steps for moving forward with their company Proofread carefully—check spelling, grammar, and tone before sending Close your email professionally and include your name
do not: Do NOT send the same generic email to each VIP Do NOT send selfies, social media photos, or photos with filters Do NOT send photos with other people or animals Do NOT send photos that no longer reflect your current appearance Agencies may decline submissions or new talent due to unprofessional emails, spelling or grammar errors, or inadequate photos. Taking a few extra minutes to review your message—and choosing clear, presentable photos—can make a powerful first impression. Your photos do not need to be professionally taken, but they should be clean, current, and presentable. A simple headshot and full-body photo are always the best choice. PAGE 15
