Awarding scholarships to the Mariners Hospital Wellness Center to 40 members of the Florida Keys community who meet poverty guidelines and are unable to afford a gym membership. Access to the Center allows residents to work on improving and/or preventing any health issues

Purchasing telemonitors and vein finders to assist the medical and surgical nursing staff, positively impacting the quality of care for patients preparing for or recovering from surgery

Acquiring a NuStep T4R Cross Trainer to help patients receiving physical therapy to reduce pain, improve function, increase range of motion, proper alignment and more.

Each year, more than 4,000 patients receive physical therapy at Mariners Hospital

Bringing oncology services to patients in the Florida Keys. Rather than traveling to Miami for care, patients can now receive their chemotherapy treatment at Mariners Hospital, preserving their energy for healing and recovery

The generosity of our donors played an important role in ensuring these crucial services and clinicians are available to the residents and impacted more than 1,000 patients in 2022.

Funding hospital improvements that support the overall patient experience, including communication boards for patient rooms, additional levels of security for patients and staff and signage that provides patients and visitors key information.

Paying It Forward

On artist Maxine Trainer’s first day of chemotherapy at Mariners Hospital, she brought some of her favorite art pieces to share with the staff Maxine saw an opportunity to brighten the infusion rooms with pieces of her art in hopes it would spark joy and positivity for other patients Thanks to your generous support, patients like Maxine have the ability to rest at their homes in Islamorada and easily receive their treatment at Mariners Hospital.

“I decided last week as I was sitting in the chair for many hours facing a blank wall that I was going to change that I want to put some of my paintings in, and I want people to see them and feel uplifted, taken away from their current situation. Maybe this is where my whole journey has been going towards, to make this difference in someone’s life even for a few minutes. It’s a huge privilege.”
