Supporting the Youth Athletic Outreach Program in conjunction with Miami-Dade County Public Schools to make sure athletes are cared for before, during and after athletic competition Services included a medical team at every varsity high school football game; pre-participation athletic screenings every year for high school athletes; voluntary EKG screenings for all high school athletes; and continuing education for high school athletic trainers, coaches, athletes and parents to keep them up-to-date on medical advances in sports injuries

More than 3,900 student athletes received physical exams through the Youth Athletic Outreach program

Supporting the work of Silvia Balladares-Huete, M.D., an award-winning clinical research coordinator. Dr. Balladares-Huete is committed to helping our patients move better, with less pain. She also dedicates her time to educating the future generation of medical professionals, working closely with Florida International University's Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine students and Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Fellows to review study proposals prior to board submissions.

The impact of their research much of it taking place exclusively at Baptist Health Orthopedic Institute can determine the future direction of orthopedic studies to best improve outcomes.

Underwriting the Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction Fellowship for Robert O’Leary, M D Dr O’Leary has received comprehensive experience in the surgical management of arthritic conditions of the hips and knees

His research resulted in a published article on “Digital Fluoroscopic Navigation for Limb Length Restoration During Anterior Total Hip Arthroplasty ”

OBERD, a web-based patient outcome measurement tool, analyzes trends and insights from patients’ post-treatment feedback. The data collection will help impact our physicians’ ongoing research studies and will aid in development of improved evidence-based treatment protocols for patients OBERD has been up and running at Baptist Health Orthopedic Institute for more than two years and has had more than 10,000 patients, over 20,000 patient responses and 20 physicians enrolled with the platform. Thanks to donor support, they have collected data and recorded outcome measures for 114 procedures.
