January Educational Opportunities Nursing and the Ministry of Healing Saturday, Jan. 23, 8:45 am – 1 pm Jacksonville Main Public Library Keynote speaker David I. Levy, MD, a neurovascular surgeon and clinical professor of Neurology at the University of California, San Diego, will speak on “Resilience in Health Care.” The conference also includes a nurse panel on the topic, “Incorporating Faith in Practice,” moderated

by Diane Raines, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, Baptist Health chief nursing officer.

The program offers 3.5 nursing contact hours and is also relevant for physicians and other health care professionals, as well as community members interested in the topic. The conference includes lunch, is $15 for nurses and other health care professionals, and $10 for students and community members. Walk With a Doc Join family physician Jonathan Balog, DO, for the first Walk With a Doc of 2016, on Saturday, Jan. 9, at Baptist Primary Care Mandarin South, located at 11261 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville. The event begins with a brief talk by Dr. Balog at 9 am, followed by a short walk at your own pace. During the walk, you will be able to ask Dr. Balog questions. Congratulations to Brittany Brock, RN-BC, assistant nurse manager of the Medical-Surgical Units at Baptist Nassau, who recently passed the Medical-Surgical Nursing Board Certification exam. This certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center assesses the clinical knowledge and skills of nurses in the medicalsurgical specialty after initial RN licensure.

Summer Volunteen Program On Feb. 1, Baptist South will begin taking names of teenagers interested in participating in this summer’s

Retirement Reception for Dr. Christian Jessica Jewel Nathan, the first baby born at Baptist Beaches in 1997, presented OB/GYN physician Sam Christian, MD, with flowers at his retirement reception on Dec. 14. During his years of service at Baptist Beaches, Dr. Christian delivered more than 2,200 babies. Thank you, Dr. Christian, for your dedication to families in the Beaches communities.

Baptist Jacksonville Zumba Classes Begin Jan. 6 Zumba classes are now included as part of your membership when you join the Wolfson Wellness Center.

Thanks to the Healthy For Life subsidy, the membership fee for eligible team members is only $12.50 per month.
