Twenty five years ago I stepped onto the warm sand of the Kalahari Desert for the very first time. I remember the sounds of cooing ring-necked doves, the smell of the Mopane trees and the warm Botswana breeze brushing across my face. I felt I was finally home and the seeds of a dream were sown in that moment; that someday I would bring my family to the place where life was born and where I was re-born. This year marked my 50th journey to Africa and it was shared with my wife Amy and our two little girls Siana 7 and Mara 5 and my entire extended family. Tanzania delivered its abundant diversity of flora and fauna, staged in true modern luxury. Surrounded by ancient cultural rhythms and extreme beasts, Africa seized our soul and a part of us will remain there forever.
