The Hon Mia Davies MLA will deliver the Anzac Day Address. At the completion of the service a bring and share luncheon social will be held at the Quairading Club. A fly over of Avon Valley Flight will take place at 11:30am during the service.

ROTARY CLUB The Rotary Club regrets to advise that it is unable to offer the firewood service to the Quairading community this winter due to lack of donated timber supply and lack of manpower to cut and deliver wood. Thank you to all our wood customers past and present for your long time support of this community service and valuable club fundraiser. JIGSAWS Tuesday 1 May, 10am at the Golden Grain Bakery & Café. Are you interested in swapping jigsaw puzzles with someone else? Bring a puzzle (in it’s box) and have a cuppa and chat. Then take a different one home. If you eventually want yours back make sure it is named. Come back in a month’s time on June 5 and swap again. Everyone welcome. Jigsaws can be any degree of difficulty; children’s through to challenging!

PROPOSED PEST PLANTS AMENDMENT LOCAL LAW 2018 The Shire of Quairading proposes to make a local law to amend the Shire of Quairading Pest Plants Local Law 2016. The purpose of the proposed Pest Plants Amendment Local Law 2018 is to prescribe pest plants within the district. The effect of the proposed Pest Plants Amendment Local Law 2018 is that owners and occupiers of land within the district are to comply with the provisions in this local law. Copies of the proposed Local Law may be obtained from the Shire’s website, or inspected at the Administration Centre, Jennaberring Road, Quairading, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.

MEN’S GOLF On the weekend the men played off in the Colonel Cup. P Stephens won on 44pts with G Woods r/up on 42pts. This weekend is the Club & Pub day, 2 man ambrose event, all welcome, we can always find you a partner, refreshments on course, an event not to be missed!

LADIES GOLF Wednesday 18 April we played for the Vice Captains trophy, it was a lovely day and really no excuse for bad golf just ask our winner Jill McRae with a fantastic score of 40pts and runner-up Anthea Cousins with 37pts. Novelty winners were, best 2nd shot No 2 Kelli Brown, NTP No 5 Jill McRae, NTP No 14 Sue Shenton, Longest In No 15 Anthea Cousins. Next Wednesday 25 April, Anzac Day we are playing for the Monthly Mug starting later to give everyone time to attend the Anzac ceremony, names in by 12:30pm.

QUAIRADING BADMINTON CLUB Tuesday 1 May, badminton will commence. Please arrive at 8:45am for a 9am start. New players welcome; men, women & children.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – ABORIGINAL SUPPORTED PLAYGROUP WORKER EOI are sought from people interested in a position as Playgroup Support Worker for the Aboriginal Playgroup in Quairading.

The successful candidate will be employed for 3-4 hours per week during school terms to run playgroup sessions, and other administration, planning and liaison tasks. Support and training will be provided. Preference will be given to Indigenous applicants.
