This document highlights the internal and external provision available to help staff to improve, and promote, their mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. The following information is structured to reflect different levels and urgency of need for support, starting with support for immediate support (RED), intermediate support to improve wellbeing (ORANGE), and resources to help promote wellbeing (GREEN). We hope this document helps you to gain a greater understanding of what resources are available for staff health and wellbeing.

Promoting wellbeing DEVELOPMENT FOR WORKPLACE WELLBEING The University provides a range of personal and professional training and development opportunities for staff of all roles. Please visit the staff development page for details on how to enrol: • • • •

Bespoke in-house training and development sessions Coaching and academic mentoring schemes I-act training Keeping Mental Health in Mind. This online course is designed to give staff the skills, knowledge, and confidence to offer a first line of support to students who may have mental health issues. To access this learning opportunity, please click here Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Wales training Responding to disclosures of sexual violence. This course is designed to support staff in how to effectively receive a disclosure of sexual violence from a student. The course is interactive and features several short films, case studies, news articles and activities. It should take you approximately 1-2hrs to complete. To access this course, please click here

UNIVERSITY INTERACTIVE TOOLS AND PRACTICAL GUIDES Care first Lifestyle Website houses extensive resources and articles on a wide range of mental health issues including staying mentally active, quality sleep, stress management, self-esteem, and work/life balance. Care first Zest App provided by My Possible Self, offers guided series and a toolkit of interactive techniques and exercises to help you make sense of problems, identify habits you want to change, and teach you ways to live happier and healthier.
