A voice ‘simple and unthreatening’

He is serious about current affairs and a staunch supporter of the Uluru Statement from the Heart. He has consequently contributed to the conversation around an Indigenous Voice to parliament delivering an impassioned appeal during the first day of hearings at the parliamentary joint select committee on the referendum wording. Kerry, who has co-written a Voice to Parliament handbook with Indigenous leader Thomas Mayo to be published within weeks, described the referendum question as a ‘simple and unambitious and unthreatening’ proposal.
