Description

The author hearkens back to her childhood days, when she used to accompany her family to ropai. She remembers playing in the wet mud in spring. Planting of the green saplings as the workers sing songs in unison. The flowing river with its strong current just before the onset of monsoon. And in autumn, fields of golden paddy, the dry air carries the beautiful scent of paddy far and wide. And the stacks of hay, where she and her friends used to play, jump around and sleep in. The author would like to build a park where a child growing up in Kathmandu can experience the age-old tradition of farming. The park would be a wonderland where children could participate in outdoor activities using all their senses. The activity would help a child develop their social skills as well as develop their cognitive functions. A park that would allow them to play and interact in nature, and to create memories to cherish for a lifetime.
