JOHN HARBAUGH

ON

C OAC H H A R BAU G H S AY S HIS LOVE FOR THE RAVENS’ PLAYERS:

“I love these guys, and it’s not because they’re football players or because they play for us. It’s for who they are. They have the hearts of lions. For guys to be able to [win on Monday] and to make those plays at the end when it counted the most, it just says so much about their character and who they are, their trust and their belief – belief in what they believe in and believing in each other.”

(8-5)

QUICK HITS • Winners of two-straight games, the Baltimore Ravens (8-5) host the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-12) in a battle at M&T Bank Stadium. Baltimore has secured at least eight victories for the 12th time in head coach John Harbaugh’s 13 seasons, and once again, is in the thick of the playoff race, looking to capture its third-straight postseason berth. • In a battle for the ages and one of the best games ever played on Monday Night Football, the Ravens come off a thrilling 47-42 victory over the host Browns. Baltimore twice held 14-point leads, but the high-powered Cleveland attack kept climbing back, eventually taking a 35-34 edge midway through the fourth quarter after QB Lamar Jackson left the game with cramps. After Jackson’s backup, QB Trace McSorley, went down with a knee injury with 2:12 remaining, No. 8 returned from the locker room on the ensuing 4th-and-5 play, ultimately connecting with WR Marquise Brown for an improbable 44-yard TD to give Baltimore the lead (a RB J.K. Dobbins 2-point conversion made the score 42-35). Cleveland then drove 75 yards in 47 seconds to tie the score, setting up Jackson’s next drive (38 yards) that put K Justin Tucker in position to hit a game-winning 55-yard FG with :02 remaining. (A late safety by CB Marlon Humphrey on multiple desperation laterals by Cleveland led to the final score.) Jackson rushed for 2 TDs and 124 of the Ravens’ 231 ground yards, also completing 11-of-17 passes for 163 yards and the TD to Brown. TE Mark Andrews, who made 3 clutch catches on the game-winning drive, hauled in 5 passes for 78 yards. • Jacksonville leads the all-time series, 12-9. In Baltimore, the Ravens are 6-5, with the Jaguars winning the last game at M&T Bank Stadium (22-20 in 2015). The last time Baltimore and Jacksonville met was during the 2017 campaign, when the Jaguars prevailed, 44-7, in London. Under John Harbaugh, the Ravens are 3-3 vs. Jacksonville.

I N J U RY U P DAT E • Against the Browns, CB Davontae Harris (ankle), QB Trace McSorley (knee) and CB Jimmy Smith (shoulder) left the game and did not return. CB Tramon Williams (thigh) and TE Luke Willson (hip) did not play in the win over Cleveland. One player on the 53-man roster (S Geno Stone) is on Reserve/COVID-19. • Two offensive starters are on Injured Reserve: TE Nick Boyle (knee) and All-Pro LT Ronnie Stanley (ankle).

NOTE THE QUOTE USA TODAY’S MIKE JONES ON LAMAR JACKSON’S WEEK 14 PERFORMANCE: “What’s not hard to explain is the grit and level of special that Jackson possesses, and that on Monday night, he reached a new level of legendary. He showed once again why last season, he became only the second unanimous MVP in NFL history after transforming the Ravens into one of the most feared teams in the league.”
