M&T BANK GAME PREVIEW

QUOTH THE RAVEN “I’ve loved every second of being a Raven so far. My teammates have accepted me and welcomed me. The entire organization has welcomed me to the city. I’m excited to be in Baltimore. I’m excited to be a Raven. I’m excited to be a part of a great organization, great offense, great team – a team that’s had success and a team with a championship pedigree.” – RB Mark Ingram II on being a Baltimore Raven

The Ravens (1-0) welcome the Cardinals (0-0-1) to Charm City for a Week 2 matchup that kicks off at 1 p.m. today. Baltimore aims to win its fourthstraight home opener and improve to 10-2 under head coach John Harbaugh in the first game of a season at M&T Bank Stadium. Last Sunday at Miami, the Ravens established team records for most points (59) and yards (643) in a game, beating the Dolphins 59-10 on Kickoff Weekend. Baltimore set an NFL record for most points (42) in the first half of a season opener while establishing a team mark for scoring in any half. QB Lamar Jackson produced a perfect passer rating (158.3), throwing a team-record-tying 5 TDs and completing 17 of 20 passes for 324 yards. Incredibly, the Ravens also produced a 100-yard rusher (RB Mark Ingram, 107), a 100yard receiver (WR Marquise Brown, 147) and a 100-yard tight end (TE Mark Andrews, 108). Baltimore scored 8 TDs, 2 of which came from Ingram II and another pair from the rookie Brown, who became the first NFL player ever to post 40-yard TD receptions on his first two NFL catches (47 & 83 yards). Baltimore limited the Dolphins to 200 yards, posting 3 sacks and 2 INTs (S Earl Thomas III & CB Marlon Humphrey).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 1.8 – Yards per rush the Ravens allowed at Miami last week (21 yards on 12 attempts). The 1.8 stands as the Ravens’ third-best figure since John Harbaugh’s 2008 Baltimore arrival.

5 – TD passes by QB Lamar Jackson in Week 1, tying Joe Flacco (2014) and Tony Banks (2000) for the franchise single-game record. Jackson posted more TD passes at Miami than he did rushes (3).

29 – Career INTs for S Earl Thomas III (including 1 last week at Miami). Thomas now ties Eric Weddle for the most picks among active NFL safeties.

108 – Receiving yards on 8 catches by secondyear TE Mark Andrews (both career highs) at Miami. He posted the ninth-ever 100-yard receiving game by a Ravens’ TE and first since Dennis Pitta in 2016.

643 – Yards of offense by Baltimore in Week 1, standing as the most in an NFL game since 2012, when Houston posted 653 vs. Jacksonville. The Ravens own a 4-2 series lead vs. Arizona, including a 2-1 record in Baltimore. These teams last met in 2015, when the Cardinals emerged with a 26-18 victory in Arizona on Monday Night Football. Under Coach Harbaugh, Baltimore is 1-1 vs. the Cardinals. Under Coach Harbaugh, who is in his 12th season, Baltimore owns the NFL’s fifth-most total wins (115) since his 2008 Charm City arrival. The Ravens have appeared in three AFC title games (2008, 2011 & 2012) with “Harbs” at the helm, and in 2012, won Super Bowl XLVII. 2018 2019 BALTIMORE RAVENS GAMEDAY | 5

ON LAMAR JACKSON & THE OFFENSE NEEDING TO IMPROVE “It’s a team sport. It’s hard to be a one-man show out there. Having players around him who make plays and have chemistry and the ability to work together at this level is big. But like I told those guys, people are going to mark you now. They are going to look for ways to stop you, what we do well and how we do it. We have to keep growing and improving to stay ahead of the challenges, because that’s the way the NFL works. Nothing stands still. You’re either getting better, or you’re getting worse. We have to keep improving.”

LAMAR JACKSON:

That's our quarterback by sarah hampton

L

amar Jackson came into the Ravens’ locker room in 2018 a humble and unassuming 21-year-old who also happened to be a Heisman-winning quarterback and first-round NFL Draft pick. He liked listening to rap music and ate pasta before football games. He spent time with his mother and siblings and enjoyed joking around with his teammates.

under the scope of a city hungry for another championship.

Did he know he was about to become the face of a premier franchise? Probably not. Was he determined to be the best quarterback the NFL has ever seen? Absolutely.

Jackson is relatable, personable, intelligent, competitive and dynamic. He takes the time to meet his fans. He gets to know Ravens staffers and addresses everyone by name. His teammates on both sides of the ball are drawn to him, and he’s quickly grown to be their leader with ease.

During his time at Louisville, Jackson became the youngest player ever to win the Heisman Trophy. His list of collegiate accolades runs long: ACC Player of the Year and ACC Offensive Player of the Year in consecutive seasons (a first in the conference’s history); twice nominated for the Heisman; just the third player in FBS history to record 50 career rushing and 50 career passing TDs (the only non-senior to do so); and established ACC and Louisville records in total yards, rushing yards, rushing touchdowns and points responsible for. The list goes on. Mind you, Jackson played just 38 collegiate games. He went on to accomplish much for the Ravens in an even shorter amount of time. He took over for an injured – and then recovered – Super Bowl-winning quarterback. He posted six victories in his first seven games, the second-most wins in the first seven starts by a rookie quarterback. He led the Ravens to the AFC North Division title and became the youngest quarterback to start a playoff game in NFL history. And, he did so after learning an unfamiliar and complicated offensive scheme at an accelerated pace alongside new coaches and different teammates, while 10 | 2019 BALTIMORE RAVENS GAMEDAY

What many people may not recognize about Jackson is how far he’s come in just one year, in only 365 days, both physically and mentally. It’s not just his athleticism on the field that makes him special, but his personality, too.

A kid at heart but a mature professional at work who is focused on improving every facet of his game, Jackson brings a rare and lovable presence to the Ravens organization. Rather than accepting the elevated status that many quarterbacks are bestowed, he is a true team player who wants to win for the sake of his teammates and fans. He is no one but himself and is always working to be his best, the definition of what it means to be a Raven.

"He’s a hard worker, and he wants to be great. he has his mind right, wants to study film, wants to be the best quarterback he can be and the best player he can be. I think the sky is the limit for him." - RB Mark ingram ii

"lamar is a leader. he's a natural leader." - head coach john harbaugh

"lamar wants to be great. it’s fun to come to work every day. You see how vivacious he is. You see his energy. It’s fun to be around that every day.” - quarterbacks coach james urban

"He’s calmer and more poised in the huddle. You can see more confidence in him. Last year at this time, he was the backup, and now he’s the guy. I think he’s embracing that role." - G marshal yanda

"he's been more vocal than last year. I’ve been really impressed with how far he’s come. I’m excited to be a part of it. When lamar talks, everybody listens." - te hayden hurst

2019 BALTIMORE RAVENS GAMEDAY | 11

"He puts the ball in incredible spots, and he’s such a dynamic player. He has that special ‘it’ factor about him, and again, he’s special, and there’s really no other word to describe him. He’s incredible." - te mark andrews "He just is who he is, and he doesn’t get flustered, doesn’t get fazed; it’s never too big for him. He keeps it about what’s important. I’m kind of blown away by that part of it with him… He’s just Lamar." - head coach john harbaugh

"If you would divide all the different things that go in to playing quarterback, I think it would be amazing to many people how many columns there are. He has raised his level in every column, to a certain extent. Lamar is the kind of guy that, the more he does something, he’s going to get better at it. He’s just that kind of guy." - offensive coordinator greg roman "He is a complete leader right now. On the field, he has command and presence. His throws have been amazing. He is going to be an amazing quarterback this year." - wr chris moore

"He’s been dropping dimes. Everybody knows he’s a great athlete. ‘Lamar, you be who you are. You be special. If you have to take off, take off. Make the defense work.’ When you make a defense tired like that, then the game opens up, play-action opens up, the run game opens up. Everything opens up." - s earl thomas III

Ravens QB Robert Griffin III hosted an event alongside his foundation to provide haircuts and school supplies to students from City Springs Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore City.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB RENOVATION On June 5, 2019, the Ravens hosted an organization-wide volunteer day to help transform and refurbish the Webster Kendrick Boys & Girls Club. Funded by the Ravens Foundation, Inc., in conjunction with M&T Bank, the project included additional volunteer days leading up to the ribbon cutting. Current and alumni Ravens players and staff joined representatives from M&T Bank to make up the over 225 volunteers who completed the transformation project. Throughout the day, volunteers worked to renovate Webster Kendrick’s multi-purpose room, entryway, teen lounge and staff lounge. The club’s STEAM Lab was also outfitted with new furniture, décor, artwork

and technology. Additionally, teams painted and refreshed the main entrance and enhanced outdoor landscaping to enrich the school community. Calloway Elementary School, which is adjoined to Webster Kendrick, also received a facelift, and the school’s students participated in the day’s festivities. Helpers engaged in student reading sessions and delivered bags of new books to each student. The day concluded with a special ribboncutting ceremony featuring Ravens president Dick Cass and representatives from M&T Bank, the Boys & Girls Club of Metropolitan Baltimore, The Heart of America and Baltimore City Public Schools.

M&T BANK STADIUM ENHANCEMENTS

The Baltimore Ravens recently completed a three-year, $120 million self-funded investment project that enhances the fan experience at M&T Bank Stadium. Demonstrating a continued commitment to create an exceptional gameday atmosphere, the improvements include 4K ultra-high definition video displays, escalators and elevators to the upper deck, a new sound system, upgraded kitchen facilities, a redesigned club level and updated suites. Highlighted below are some of the most recent enhancements:

RAVENSWALK UPDATES The newly-renovated RavensWalk, connecting Oriole Park to M&T Bank Stadium, includes several upgrades and enhancements to make your pre-game experience even better. Team partners and vendors line RavensWalk and provide an NFL-best tailgating experience, featuring live music, radio broadcasts, food, beverages and more!

NEW ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM INCLUDING SELF-SERVE TICKET SCANNERS Self-serve ticket scanners have been added to all stadium entry points in order to offer a more efficient entry process when scanning digital tickets and PSL Owner cards. Additionally, our new elevators will assist guests with disabilities in getting to and from the upper levels. Also, Gate A-2 is now dedicated to exclusive access for upper level guests!

CLUB LEVEL UPGRADES AND NEW SOUND SYSTEM All concessions stands and the bar/lounge areas on the stadium’s Club Level were upgraded to enhance the visual appeal while providing a more comfortable atmosphere. Over 220 new TVs were added along with four new large LED video boards for NFL and Ravens gameday programming. Guests will also experience a wider array of concessions options with increased quality.
