BRACE TO LEAD SANTA ROSA COUNTY LONG-TERM RECOVERY GROUP
BRACE (Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies), Northwest Florida’s leading community-based disaster preparedness and recovery organization, is proud to announce that it will assume leadership of the Santa Rosa County Long-Term Recovery Group (LTRG).
The Santa Rosa LTRG serves as a vital coalition of community partners working together to support residents in the aftermath of disasters by coordinating resources, services, and recovery efforts. Under BRACE’s leadership, the group will strengthen collaboration, streamline case management, and ensure disaster-impacted families receive the long-term support they need to rebuild their lives.
“Santa Rosa County has a strong history of neighbors helping neighbors, and BRACE is honored to support that tradition,” said Dr. Nick Jackson, BRACE CEO. “By working alongside Santa Rosa County Emergency Management, faith-based organizations, nonprofits, and local leaders, we will ensure that recovery resources reach those who need them most—efficiently, effectively, and compassionately.”

Santa Rosa County Emergency Management welcomed the expanded partnership.
“Having BRACE step into this leadership role strengthens our community’s ability to recover from disasters,” said Tom Lloyd, Santa Rosa County Public Safety Director. “We are confident that BRACE’s experience and expertise will provide strong guidance for long-term recovery in Santa Rosa County.”

In addition to celebrating achievements, Diaz used the address to reflect on the true purpose of a university – to be “a living network of people joined together in the shared pursuit of learning, discovery and growth.” He spoke about the Greek word arete, meaning “virtue” or “excellence,” displayed in UWF’s athletic facilities, noting that it captures the spirit of what it means to be an Argonaut. He emphasized that UWF embodies this pursuit through exploration, innovation and collaboration across every discipline, fostering an environment where students are encouraged to think critically, engage in open dialogue and learn from one another.
Looking ahead, Diaz outlined priorities including construction of the Darrell Gooden Stadium, expanded wellness initiatives, the creation of the Office of Military Services and a renewed focus on research and economic development through new partnerships and innovation hubs.
“These initiatives represent not a change in direction, but a continuation of the forward momentum that defines this university,” Diaz said. “However long I have the opportunity to serve as interim president, my commitment is to continue advancing this momentum, ensuring that every member of our community has the opportunity to thrive.”
Diaz ended his address on an inspiring note, reflecting on the University’s mission and momentum for the future.

The Authority proposes to issue not exceeding $22,000,000 in aggregate principal amount of its revenue bonds (the “Bonds”), in one or more installments or series and loan the proceeds of such Bonds to Kupfrian Manor, LLC a Florida limited liability company or its affiliate (the “Borrower”) for the purpose of financing or refinancing the costs of acquiring, constructing and equipping a
