WHAT’S TRENDING IN INTERIOR DESIGN?

Fall is nearly here, and it’s the perfect time to update one, or a few, of your home’s design elements. We asked local interior designer Connie Crosby of Constance Crosby Interiors for some insight on what’s hot in the world of interior design this season? Trend 1

Warm neutral colors and simple, stand-alone accent pieces

Neutral colors create a relaxing and welcoming space. Light brown colors that can be bright during the day but warm in the evening create a room that is perfect all day long. Those stand-alone accent pieces in a variety of shades of brown create a lovely space that is not over crowded. You want clean and clear, not cluttered, so that your space is inviting but still accentuates your taste.

Trend 2

Open shelving or pantries with a clear, see-through door

The dishes and other everyday items in the kitchen can become part of the decor and add a different sense of style. Baskets, jars and other open or clear containers can add some new and exciting texture throughout a home. When you have everything out on the shelves that you use everyday, it becomes part of your decor (and things won’t get lost in the back of a cabinet).
