MESSAGE FROM SUPERINTENDENT OF RECREATION We are pleased to present the Pensacola Parks and Recreation 2015 Fall Program Guide. We are offering many exciting activities and special events for all ages throughout the season. Our goal is to improve and promote the quality of life in Pensacola by providing a wide range of recreational, social, and educational opportunities for you and your family.

ADOPT-A-PARK PROGRAM

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Are you looking to get more involved in the community, accumulate volunteer hours, or simply help?

The Adopt-A-Park Program allows individuals, groups, organizations, or schools to adopt their local neighborhood park. By adopting a park you agree to visit the park site to help clean up litter/debris and report any dangerous or hazardous conditions to the Parks and Recreation Department.

There are a number of great opportunities available throughout the year for friendly and enthusiastic individuals and groups of all ages to volunteer their time and talents to the Parks & Recreation Department. You can choose whether to volunteer for one of our Youth and Senior Recreation Programs or a one-time special event. Want to be outdoors?

Volunteer to help keep your neighborhood park safe and clean. You can choose to participate in a onetime project or participate in ongoing projects and programs!

Also, with your assistance, the Parks and Recreation Department will coordinate larger Park Beautification Days at your adopted park and supply the following to your group:

DAY TRIPS Bayview Seniors travel to different places and attractions. Prices for each trip vary by location, day, and event, however, there is no cost to ride the bus. Examples of trips are: Biloxi, Mississippi, Pensacola Beach, shopping in Destin, and Historic Downtown Pensacola.

SPECIAL EVENTS Bayview Senior Center holds different events and services at the center for seniors such as Holiday luncheons, flu shots, health check ups, special guests and speakers, cook outs, the Senior Expo, special outings, and sporting events. The cost of these events vary with location and date.

In July we celebrated the grand opening of the new Rotary Centennial Playground at the Vince Whibbs Sr. Community Maritime Park. The Rotary Club of Pensacola spearheaded the project in celebration of the organization’s 100th anniversary.

Donations and sponsorships from individuals, companies and organizations made the construction of this one-of-a-kind playground possible.

The inclusive playground features unique play structures, a clock tower centerpiece, shade trees and covered picnic area. All Facility Rentals include a kitchen, tables, chairs, and a rental manager during your rental. The rental manager will set up your tables and chairs to your specifications.
