4.Increase overall ballet fluidity/confidence
To perform en pointe!
5.Enhance port de bras
6.Improve extension height
Lindsay has shown consistent dedication to her ballet training, putting in many hours, well done! Since enrolling in another ballet intensive for June 2026, she has clearly committed to progressing toward the intermediate pointe level and preparing for future goals, such as executing pirouettes en pointe. Her teacher has noted significant improvement over the past two months, particularly in foot placement, pirouettes, center work, and overall body alignment! Throughout her training, notable themes include significant gains in relevé strength, turnout awareness, pirouette mechanics, flexibility, and foot articulation. Lindsay is especially benefiting from floor barre, turnout work, and repetition-based strength exercises, all of which have contributed to more stable retirés, stronger demi-pointe, and improved arabesque and grand battement lines. She continues to progress steadily in her splits, adagio control, and pointe-specific exercises. Ongoing areas of focus include coordinating her arms and legs, quicker weight transfers, and avoiding leaning back on her heels. Lindsay's consistent effort and measurable progress, coupled with her growing confidence and increasing mastery of foundational skills, position her strongly for her upcoming goals within the next year. Her steady improvements, along with her enthusiasm for a wide variety of supplemental training, demonstrate both discipline and a genuine passion for her development as a dancer. For this plan, we will continue with the same goals and will futher focus on coordinating arms and legs, quicker weight transfers, and height of extensions.
This plan includes 6 days of training, 4 days of 90 minutes and 2 days of 2 5 hours Some days are split into two segments, feel free to do them together or separately. Please make sure to warm-up before each session (try my Foam Roller Routine)! TIME COMMITMENT
A key strategy for improving strength and flexibility for extensions in dancers is combining targeted strength training with active stretching. To build the muscle strength necessary for higher and more controlled extensions, dancers can incorporate exercises focusing on the hip flexors, glutes, and core. Strengthening these areas supports better control and height in leg extensions. Simultaneously, active stretching techniques such as dynamic stretches help to increase the flexibility of the hamstrings, hip flexors, and adductors. By consistently balancing strength with flexibility exercises, dancers can achieve greater height, control, and fluidity in their extensions.
A strong core is essential for dancers as it provides the foundation for balance, stability, and control in movement. It helps maintain proper posture, enabling dancers to execute precise and fluid movements, particularly during challenging turns and extensions. With a welldeveloped core, dancers can better control their center of gravity, reducing wobbling or falling during spins, jumps, and balancing poses. This strength not only enhances the ability to perform multiple turns with consistency but also protects the body from injury by stabilizing the spine and hips during high-intensity movements.
