• Year 9 GCSE Dancers 1. ‘Dream’ Inspired by the renowned production Swan Lake, this piece reimagines the elegance and strength of the male swans through contemporary ballet.

The dancers have explored spatial patterns, fluid arm movements, and dynamic formations to create a dreamlike atmosphere that blends tradition with innovation.

Up’ • Matilda W 2. ‘Rise In this emotive contemporary solo, Matilda

interprets the theme of personal growth.

Beginning with subtle, inward gestures that reflect vulnerability, the choreography gradually builds-in strength and confidence, incorporating elevation, expansive movements, and grounded floorwork to symbolise empowerment and resilience.

Back the River’ • Junior Dance Company 3. ‘Hold This collaborative contemporary piece was

developed with the guidance of Year 9 Dance Leaders Daisy, Florence, Gabby, and Matilda. The choreography explores themes of connection, support, and the flow of emotion, using partner work and group dynamics to reflect the power of unity and friendship.

• Daisy 4. ‘Ordinary’ J Daisy’s lyrical solo blends classical ballet

technique with expressive contemporary movement. Set to a song that celebrates the beauty of everyday love, the choreography explores themes of devotion, vulnerability, and emotional transformation, using flowing lines and heartfelt gestures to connect with the audience.

Imagination’ • Year 1 and 2 Dancers 5. ‘Pure Inspired by Willy Wonka: The Musical, this

whimsical piece features handmade props and a delightful blend of contemporary ballet and storytelling. The young dancers bring a world of sweet treats to life, using expressive movement and playful formations to capture the magic of imagination.

• Year 9 Dancers 6. ‘Monster’ A high-energy fusion of contemporary and

hip-hop, this piece draws inspiration from Emancipation of Expressionism. The dancers’ channel raw emotion and explosive power, using sharp isolations, group unison, and contrasting dynamics to portray inner battles and the strength found in self-expression.

• Charlotte S 7. ‘Celeste’ This is a contemporary solo created with lyrics

as inspiration. You will see movements that work in direct correlation with the music with hints of jazz and commercial style dance.

• Year 10 GCSE Dancers 8. ‘Shadows’ Based on Christopher Bruce’s iconic work,

this performance delves into the struggles of European families during World War II. Through tense, emotive movement and symbolic props, the dancers convey fear, oppression, and a desperate hope for safety, offering a powerful narrative of survival and displacement.

• Georgie E 9. ‘Escape’ Georgie’s contemporary solo explores the

psychological experience of feeling trapped within one’s own mind. The choreography uses confined gestures, sudden bursts of movement, and moments of stillness to portray the tension between seeking help and withdrawing into silence, ending with a poignant sense of surrender.

• Junior Dance Company 10. ‘Chandelier’ Set to the powerful vocals of Sia, this emotionally charged piece explores themes of vulnerability and strength. The dancers use expressive contemporary movement, dynamic lifts, and intricate floorwork.

on the Inside’ • Isabella M 11. ‘Louder Inspired by the driving beat in ‘Ribs’ by Lorde.

This contemporary solo pulses with the rhythm of a hidden heartbeat. Louder on the Inside dives deep into chaotic sea of transition. The dance explores the struggle between control and release, as inside emotions rise and fall like waves, pushing against the unstoppable race against time. Through sharp, flowing movement, the dance uncovers an inner storm of memory, fear, and resilience before draining into exhaustion and collapsing into stillness.

• Senior Dance Company 12. ‘Bridgerton’ This neo-classical piece, inspired by Rosas Danst Rosas, examines the historical expectations placed on women in society. With precise, repetitive movements and stylised gestures, the choreography critiques the performative nature of femininity, and the quiet strength required to challenge societal norms.

Me’ • Layla P 13. ‘See Set to Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls, Layla’s solo is a heartfelt exploration of longing and emotional transparency. Through fluid contemporary movement, she portrays the desire to be truly seen and understood, balancing moments of hesitation with bold, reaching gestures that reflect inner courage.

• Senior Dance Company 14. ‘Perception’ Inspired by Akram Khan’s fusion of

contemporary dance with kathak and hiphop, this piece explores how perception shape’s identity. The dancers use counterpoint, expressive hand gestures, and layered rhythms to challenge the audience’s expectations and celebrate cultural diversity.

• Student-Led Choreography 1. ‘Mini-Mixtape’ This high-energy cypher-style performance is

choreographed entirely by students. Featuring a mix of old-school classics and contemporary beats, the dancers take turns showcasing their individual styles in a freestyle format. Expect creativity, charisma, and a celebration of dance as a form of self-expression.

Blinders’ • Year 7 and 8 Dancers 2. ‘Peaky Inspired by Rambert’s stage adaptation of Peaky Blinders, this gritty and dramatic piece was developed during curriculum time. The dancers use stylised movement, characterisation, and props to portray the tension and swagger of the iconic series, blending contemporary dance with theatrical storytelling.

Control’ • Florence K 3. ‘Lose Florence uses sharp gestures throughout this

contemporary dance to express strength and intensity. By dancing this way, Florence pushes herself to be more powerful with her movements, particularly in her leaps, kicks, and smoother, flowy motions that mix strength with grace.

Hunt’ • Year 3, 4 & 5 Dancers 4. ‘Lioness A vibrant revival from the Lower Prep 2025

production of The Lion King, this piece captures the energy and rhythm of the savannah.

The dancers embody the spirit of the lionesses through strong, grounded movements and rhythmic patterns that celebrate community and strength.

Man’ • Senior Dance Company 5. ‘Sinner Inspired by the legendary Alvin Ailey

American Dance Theater, this piece pays tribute to the power of gospel music and African American heritage. The dancers use jazz and modern dance techniques to express themes of struggle, redemption, and spiritual awakening, echoing the revolutionary spirit of Ailey’s work in the 1960s.

Jump’ • Year 6 Dancers 6. ‘One This lively musical theatre number brings the

world of Aladdin to life. Year 6 pupils showcase their storytelling skills through energetic choreography, characterisation, and dynamic formations. The dance captures the playful chase between Aladdin and the guards, blending humour, agility, and theatrical flair.

Children’ • Year 1 and 2 Dancers 7. ‘Revolting A crowd favourite from Matilda: The Musical,

this number allows our youngest dancers to shine. With bold movements, cheeky expressions, and a strong sense of rhythm, the children bring the rebellious spirit of the song to life, showcasing their growing confidence and stage presence.

to 5’ • Year 10 GCSE Dancers 8. ‘9Originally choreographed as a solo for the

GCSE Dance course; this solo is set to the iconic Dolly Parton track, the choreography combines contemporary technique with theatrical storytelling.

was I made for?’ • Skye F 9. ‘What Skye’s solo is a lyrical/ballet piece to “what was I made for” by Billie Eilish from the Barbie movie.

It is a melancholic ballad exploring themes of identity and the search for purpose. It is a beautiful moving song that highlights everything you want to be and achieve in life, while at same time making us sad for all the memories that are being forgotten and left behind.

Dip’ • Traditional African Dance Company 10. ‘Whacky Back by popular demand, this electrifying piece blends traditional African dance with influences from Jamaica’s dancehall scene. The choreography features fast-paced footwork, polyrhythmic patterns, and vibrant group formations, celebrating cultural heritage and the joy of movement.

Funk’ • Hip Hop Crew (Years 3, 4 & 5) 11. ‘Uptown This upbeat performance features breakdance

elements such as top rocks, get downs, and power moves. The dancers bring their own flair to the choreography, combining classic hip-hop grooves with their own creative interpretations.

Get Loud’ • Year 9 GCSE Dancers 12. ‘Let’s A vibrant celebration of rhythm and culture, this piece fuses jazz, musical theatre, and samba influences. With bold colours, carnival-inspired movement, and infectious energy, the dancers embody the spirit of Rio as they prepare to embark on their GCSE Dance journey.
