Join us as we meet beneath the trees in the beautiful botanical gardens to listen to Ballarat poet Megan Riedl read a selection of her original poems - and a few of her favourites too. Megan will be joined by local band The Winter Berries for a delightful afternoon of entertainment for all ages. BYO Picnic and blanket/chairs.

REMEMBERING THE NATIONAL APOLOGY DAY IN BALLARAT

On February 13 in 2008, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, made a formal apology to Australia’s Stolen Generations, those Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who had been removed as children from their families and their culture. The City of Ballarat is taking a moment to remember the National Apology, and the effect it had on the Stolen Generations.
