The Australian Ballet Dance Workshops To celebrate The Australian Ballet On Tour in Ballarat, you’re invited to participate in a dance workshop inspired by classical favourites and exciting new works.

These workshops are led by staff from The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach team and are designed to be inclusive and accessible to all, regardless of learning style or physical ability.

Bookings required Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in and bring a water bottle.

Adults Bookings required Dancing Story Explore creative games and storytelling through movement in this workshop for children aged 3-5. The dance workshop promotes movement skill development, working with others, sequencing and literacy, and costumes and props will be used to enrich the learning experience.

Youth Workshop Learn the tools to make a dance in this workshop for young people aged 11-18. Your instructor will teach you warmups, creative exercises and choreographic techniques you can use in your own creations.

Please note children under the age of 18, will need to have a parent/ guardian present for the duration of the workshop.

Adult Programs Wellbeing Matters Ballarat Libraries is proud to present Wellbeing Matters, a series of monthly sessions focusing on general wellbeing.

Be inspired to lead a happier and healthier life.

Sustainable Living at Home Living sustainably starts at home. Join the City of Ballarat Sustainable Environment team and discover practical tips, rebates and local resources to help you create a more sustainable home. The session will include a demonstration of a thermal camera, showing how heat is gained and lost in homes.

Thermal cameras are available to borrow through Ballarat Libraries’ Energy Saver Kits, so you can continue learning at home.

Maker Space and Virtual Reality Little Figures, Long Shadows Workshops The Little Figures, Long Shadows exhibition busts were 3D printed in the Maker Space. Come to a workshop during Pride Month and learn to make your own.

Little Figures, Long Shadows: LGBTIQA+ people from Ballarat’s history Little Figures, Long Shadows is an exhibition of 3D printed busts of historical LGBTIQA+ people with a connection to Ballarat. Some were born here, others were raised here, some worked here, and some found their final rest here.

Maker Space Safety Induction

Excited to use the Ballarat Library Maker Space? Book in to attend a Maker Space Safety Induction. Only those who have completed a safety induction can use the Maker Space.

These sessions cover important information and safety procedures about the Maker Space and its equipment including 3D printers, Cricut ® cutters and heat press.

Come along to the Ballarat Library Maker Space and work alongside other community creatives. This session is designed for you to freely play with the technology.

Staff will be on hand to guide you through using the equipment.

To use the Maker Space, you must be a library member aged 15 years and older.

Every Monday 3-6pm Every Thursday 9.30am-12pm Ballarat Library, Maker Space Drop-in. No bookings required.

Ages 15+ Young people aged 15 to 17 must attend with a guardian to sign the user agreement.

Maker Space and Virtual Reality 3D Printing Q&A Increase your 3D Printing and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills. Book a 1-hour session and get tips and tricks for your CAD models. Learn to use the Bambu Carbon multi-coloured print settings to bring your models to life.

To use the Maker Space, you must be a library member aged 15 years and older.

Let’s Discover Learn to use the equipment in our Maker Space, where creativity meets technology! Let’s Discover is a series of fun, beginner-friendly sessions exploring our 3D printers, badge maker, Cricut machine and sewing machines. These are skillsfocused sessions covering tips, tricks and troubleshooting - no projects will be made during the program.

Participants do not need to complete a Maker Space Safety Induction to attend Let’s Discover. Book your spot now and experience the future of making!

Let’s Play is a series of short courses using a variety of hardware and software to complete a fun project.

Participants must be library members, aged 15 years or over and have completed a Maker Space Safety Induction (see page 27).

These sessions will develop your skills in Tinkercad, Bambu Labs software and BBC micro:bit coding.

Fashion Forward

Make runway-ready garments that tell a creative story.

Fashion Forward is a series of drop-in sessions dedicated to fashion design.

Use our equipment including sewing machines, 3D printers, and Cricut machines to make wearable art.

Drop-In Drag workshops cover the fundamentals of design, construction and finishing for performance fashion, all on a tight budget. Transform old clothes and soft furnishings into the outfit of your dreams and get ready to leave no crumbs on the catwalk!

These workshop are LGBTQIA+ friendly - open to all!

I came to slay – Finishing Touches This session covers finishing touches including making decisions about accessories and makeup to complete the runway ‘lewk’.
