BORN to Dominican parents and growing up in Florida before relocating to New York City at 18, Erika absorbed the influence of many cultures while studying fashion design under prestigious labels like Donna Karan and Josie Natori.
After graduating from Parsons Design School, Erika returned home to Puerto Rico to head up a design project showcasing Puerto Rican designers – a cause close to her heart In 2006, still dreaming of launching her own fashion label and armed with ambition, an innovative spirit, and the remnants of a shell lamp, Erika designed her first piece. Those handmade earrings launched an empire and what is now known as Erika Peña Designs
Erika’s sister, Bielka Peña-Bevillard, seeing her sister’s potential, joined the brand at its inception and has been an essential ingredient of its success ever since. With an extraordinary blend of Latin-inspired style and bold innovation, Erika Peña's couture designs have captivated the attention of renowned fashion magazines, including VOGUE, ELLE, InStyle, Glamour, USWeekly, HOLA, Harper’s Bazaar, and the New York Times.
The designs have been embraced by style icons, including Beyonce, Jessica Alba, Kim Kardashian, and Paris Hilton. With 25 collections under her belt, Erika is making waves in the world with each stunning piece she creates – from Dubai to Australia to Tokyo – turning them into highly sought-after luxury works of art.
