A Way Forward

Bali Sama Sama began with the desire to rebuild in the wake of the global pandemic, which decimated Bali’s main source of income – tourism. Our aim was to create products that supported the local economy and espoused global trends for sustainability, recycling and natural ingredients, crafted by hand. We aimed to allow the millions of people who had once enjoyed the island to align with a brand that connected them to island's creative energy.

We envisioned a company that would allow hotels, restaurants and retailers on Bali and in greater Indonesia to move away from mass produced glassware and support locally crafted and ethically sourced products with a story to excite their clients – products they could sell to tourists to allow them to take a piece of the island home.

Our calling was to put Bali on the map for premium glassware, candles and scents that utilised local talent and natural resources to create unique products. We knew that everything we wanted to do needed to based on the island, iincorporate all-natural ingredients and be made by hand. Bali Sama Sama was born.

Exceptional Craftmanship

Our glassware is made by Balinese people skilled in glass blowing, shaping and finishing, as well as artisans adept in creating natural wax and essential oils. Our glassware range is handcrafted in workshops in Gianyar, where we work with Balinese craftsmen and women to create innovative and exceptional products.

Considered Candles

Our candles use only plant-based wax which is a blend of soy and locally harvested coconut as well as pure essential oils created using Indonesian ingredients. Our scents evoke a variety of moods to suit your feelings. Our wax is made by Balinese people who carefully mix and pour our scents into glassware we work to create.

Bespoke Glassware Our range includes a variety of designs in different colours available for single or multiple purchases. We are also open to creating wholesale, bespoke and original pieces at your request.

Upcycled Upcycled glass is collected from recycling centres around Bali and delivered to our facility in Gianyar, where it is sorted for use in our glassblowing process.

Handmade Talented artisans use traditional techniques to melt, shape and colour the glass into a variety of models for our range. The glass is set in cooling ovens to ensure it is strong and durable.

Unique No two Bali Sama Sama pieces are exactly the same. This is because we use only handmade craftsmanship, giving each item a special connection to the island on which it is made.

Premium The result is glassware of a very high quality using only local materials created by Balinese craftsmen and packaged in recycled boxes for distribution around the world.

Exquisite Candles Our candles use only 100% plant-based wax mixed with pure essential oils sourced from the fields of Indonesia, then poured into handmade glassware.

Our scents light up any room with an exquisite aroma that evokes a memory of our island home.

Natural Wax

Pure Essential Oils

Local coconuts are split and the contents collected, then grated and pressed to produce a liquid which is heated and separated into 100% pure coconut oil. This is left to set into blocks of unadulterated wax.

Our essential oils are created using local plants and flowers grown by Indonesian farmers. We use only the highest grade and finest quality oils available on the island.

Recycled Glass

Designed To Keep

Recycled glass is collected from recycling centres around the island, then heated to 5,000 degrees Centigrade in ovens before being blown, coloured and shaped to hold our wax.

Our candles are designed to be reused. Unlike most candles that once finished - are discarded, our products are designed to be reused.

Our wax is made from beginning to end. We work with communities that harvest the coconuts, extract the oil, then mix it with essential oils created from local plants. The result is an allnatural product that includes no preservatives, no chemicals and no harmful ingredients. This sets our products apart.
