BALI Toolbox 2021

Page 1

BALI exists because of you – to safeguard our industry and make your professional life easier. We want to make sure you are getting the most out of everything we have to offer.

We’ve helped members get through the last 12 months

Our small team at Landscape House has spent the last year working hard for you. We have lobbied government, published sector specific guidance and provided technical assistance, to name just a few things.

Our industry still has challenges ahead, with COVID-19, Brexit, changes to plant passporting and import/export regulations, labour shortages and the public perception of the cost of using a landscape professional. Together, we can rise to them. We are proud of what we have achieved so far and of our growing membership network during a time of austerity. We look forward to building on this positive momentum into the 2021/22 membership year with some exciting plans ahead.

A membership that can save you thousands

We continue to strengthen our extensive benefit portfolio with exclusive services and savings. We explore these opportunities in more detail over the page – take the time to see how you can benefit.

Frozen fees and a 2% saving to help the bottom line

We know some of our members will be struggling after a difficult year, so we have frozen membership rates for 2021/22. Complete your renewal before Friday 26 February 2021 by returning your renewal form and making payment to save 2% off your annual fee.

Addressing

the skills shortage with GoLandscape

GoLandscape is our careers initiative to safeguard the future of the landscape industry by developing the skills it needs. We work with colleges, secondary schools, teachers, careers advisors and pupils to challenge myths and promote landscaping as a first-choice career option, as well as carrying out qualification reviews and operating an enrichment program in conjunction with the BALI Chalk Fund. We also help support those looking to change career, including ex-military personnel, by making introductions to BALI members.

SUN Newspaper

On 1 April 2021 your association will launch its new identity following a three-year branding review resulting in a fresh new approach and look for BALI.

We’ve listened to feedback from member focus groups and made refinements to what currently works while improving on the brand elsewhere.

We will be producing additional guidance throughout February and March 2021, including several freeto-attend webinars, which will help explain the changes in more detail and what you, as members, will need to do.

The future looks bright and we want to share it with you

We’re making a few changes to our membership

If you’re currently a Registered Member, from 1 April 2021 you will be referred to as a BALI Accredited Member which will replace the term Registered. Similarly, Associate Affiliate and Registered Affiliate will be known as Associate Supplier and Accredited Supplier.

More public campaigns

You told us in October 2020’s membership survey that you wanted us to increase the amount of advertising we do to the general public while simultaneously raising the value of landscaping, so the public appreciate the services you deliver. In the 2021/22 membership year we will be doing just that, with more targeted Google and social media advertising campaigns.

Even more membership benefits

We’re working hard for you in developing even more benefits for you to enjoy. These services will complement the current portfolio and will begin rolling out from Spring 2021 onward, so look out for more details at bali.org.uk/news

Final words

Following a difficult year, we are all too aware of the financial implications a rebrand will have on members. That’s why we will be extending the period of time members have in updating their assets to 31 December 2022, to ensure you have ample opportunity to work with us to make the changes. We can’t wait to share even more with you in the coming weeks and months and we hope you continue your BALI membership with us to experience it all first-hand.
