The Official Ring is a time-honored tradition commemorating the University’s history, stories and symbols that are universally relevant to Georgia Tech graduates. Rings are reserved exclusively for students who have achieved at least 60 credit hours in good standing. The center of the seal consists of a shield bearing the old university gate in Athens, a symbol adopted by the University System of Georgia and by the State itself.
