of wet weather and another deluge of antagonism from a Connahs Quay match! It is indeed I believe extremely challenging for Clubs such as ourselves who run on a part time professional basis to play midweek fixtures as everyone has to finish work, get themselves ready for a match, travel fairly long distances and then return home late only to get up early next day to return to work. Inclement weather and an inhospitable atmosphere do nothing to alleviate those stresses. However we returned from a rain sodden Flint with a point in our pocket and a well deserved point at that. We certainly missed the best chances of the match to increase our advantage but the Home side responded well and put us under severe pressure at times. All in all an excellent performance and one which should see us in confident mood for the visit of our friends from Haverfordwest this afternoon. It will however be another significant challenge and test our squad resources to the full. Our visitors today had a hugely successful European campaign in the summer but have somewhat stuttered to find their A game at the start of this season. A good win on Tuesday against Penybont will no doubt encourage their confidence and we are expecting a thrillingly competitive encounter at Maes Tegid this afternoon. The last match before today at Maes Tegid saw us defeat a young but talented Llandudno side in the Welsh Cup and we have been “rewarded” with an away tie in Aberystwyth. Hopefully this will be on Saturday 11thNovember and I hope as many of you as possible could make the trip to the seaside to support the team. ACADEMY ROUND-UP Our U13’s, U14’s, U16’s and Development sides were all in action last weekend and in mid-week, facing tough tests against The New Saints in their respective age groups. Our Development side would face a heavy defeat against their TNS counter-parts, with first team players Theo Knight and Iwan Roberts playing the whole 90 minutes. Their next test will come in the way of Newtown this Sunday 22nd of October, with our Development side looking to climb the table. Our U16’s side would also face a heavy defeat to The New Saints’ U16’s side at Park Hall on Thursday 12th of October. Next up for our U16’s is at Maes Tegid, as they also welcome their Newtown counter-parts. The New Saints’ U14’s would also visit Maes Tegid to take on our U14’s on Sunday 15th of October, where table toppers New Saints would walk away with a 4-1 victory. Our U14’s will travel to Latham Park to take on Newtown’s U14’s this Sunday 22nd of October. Our U13’s side would travel to Park Hall to take on The New Saints’ U13’s side, and would unfortunately face a heavy defeat. Coming up next for our U13’s is Newtown’s U13’s at Maes Tegid on Sunday 22nd of October as they look to pick up their first points of the season.
