Welcome back to Maes Tegid this evening for a very quick turn around after our defeat by Queens Park last Saturday evening in the SPFL Trust Trophy. It was a memorable day despite the defeat and the scoreline of 3-0 does not reflect the way the match was played against a very professional and highly paid Scottish championship outfit. We conceded a goal with the last kick of the first half and copied it exactly when they also scored with the last kick of the second half. There was a large crowd who had travelled from Glasgow and we must compliment them on their behaviour and enjoyment of the afternoon. We were proud to fly the flag for Wales in this trophy and have made many friends from Scotland in doing so. Thank you Queens Park for making it such an excellent afternoon/ evening at Maes Tegid.
And now we face the challenge of reigning Champions TNS for their first visit of the season to Maes Tegid. It is certainly a match the team could well do without after such a tough encounter at the weekend but that is how the fixture list has played out and we will face our visitors as the only other team to remain unbeaten in the JD Cymru Premier League this evening. We would hope to have some of our injury list reduced for the game but it is likely that 2/3 of the squad will be unavailable. As always it promises to be a huge test of our resources against TNS but our confidence levels are high and we will endeavour to put in another fully committed shift this evening.
Our next home match is then in 2 weeks time on Wednesday 27th September on a Wednesday evening again against Aberystwyth with 2 difficult back to back away trips to South Wales to take on Pontypridd and Barry in between. The fixture time table certainly is not doing us any favours at the moment.
We are delighted to welcome Rob Beattie to Maes Tegid this evening as our Match Ball Sponsor. Rob is a tremendous supporter of the Club and we are so grateful for his continued sponsorship. Croeso Rob!!
First against Second at the top of the JD Cymru Premier is the offering we have for you this evening. Please enjoy.
Diolch, Nigel.

Congratulations to our three debutants!
During the second half of our SPFL Trust Trophy tie with Queen’s Park this past weekend, the Club saw three of our summer signings make their competitive debutants for the Club!
Signing at the end of July; Joe Nelson would join the Town from Chester FC Academy, making his competitive debut at left-back for the Lakesiders against Queen’s Park. Meanwhile, two Deadline Day signings in Theo Knight; who returns to the Club from Shrewsbury Town following the completion of his Scholarship, and Josh Ukek, who made a move from Irish side Bluebell United.
Following Saturday’s SPFL Trust Trophy tie, both Joe and Theo would go on to play for our Development side against Airbus on Sunday, where they would both play the full 90 minutes alongside Iwan Roberts, who has already impressed for the first team in the opening games of the season. Our Development side would win 3-2 against Airbus, with Theo Knight bagging a brace and an assist for the winning goal. Well done Lads!
We would like to formally welcome all of our Summer Signings to the Club and we wish them well in their Bala Town careers!
Croeso i chi gyd!
Joe would join the Lakesiders at the end of July after a successful trial period with the Club following his departure from Chester FC Academy
Nelson would start his footballing journey at Wrexham AFC as a 10 year old, before a brief spell at Brickfield Rangers three years later. He would also go on to have a short spell at Shrewsbury Town, until making the move to Chester FC Academy.
The 18 year old joined Runcorn Town on loan from Chester in January this year, where he would make seven appearances before returning to Chester’s Academy at the end of March.
Nelson would be Colin Caton’s eighth signing in this past summer’s transfer window, having been on trial with the Club for a couple of weeks and featured in our pre-season friendly against Flint Town as Trialist 2.
Joe would make his debut for the Town against Queen’s Park in our SPFL Trust Trophy tie at Maes Tegid, coming on for Naim Arsan at left-back with minutes to go of the match. He would then go and play the full 90 minutes for our Development side a day later against Airbus UK, and coming out with the a 3-2 victory, playing alongside Theo Knight and Iwan Roberts.
